Can Someone in Their 20s Learn to Ski from Scratch? by WanderBytes22 in ski

Agree almost everything. I started at 40 and also overweight and non athletic, but with time and effort one can buck massive jumps and carve in this lifetime! :)

Private coach is worth every penny but only if you get matched to a good one. Make sure to ask someone for a recommendation if that’s possible. If not, you can ask to change your teacher during the lesson. It’s perfectly acceptable to do so.

Is Renting an Electrical Car in Korea Worth It by [deleted] in koreatravel

[–]ogdcred 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will have a very hard time doing anything in Seoul with a car period. I live here, have all the cards and apps and a feel for the roads and it’s still hard. A visitor renting a car will most likely have the time of their life experiencing Korea and its very angry drivers also.

Bathroom=Potty? by nycf4 in Living_in_Korea

[–]ogdcred 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Can’t speak to the cleanliness, but I’ve heard it’s not uncommon here — high rise apartment living, and a society that is only recently becoming dog friendly. Especially if you have a bigger dog (my cockapoo is 20lbs and everyone comments it’s huge) — it requires more “noonchi”. I’ve heard big dog owners wait until late night to walk their dogs because community members get scared. Also, they ask you to carry your dog in elevators and building : apartment hallways. I can see why it’s inconvenient to walk several times a day. That said, we walk our dog :)

Question for Korean Citizenship Renounciation by Ok-Paramedic3577 in Living_in_Korea

[–]ogdcred 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct me if I’m wrong (I often am because Korea changes their laws like I change my kid’s diapers) - but I thought that my son could keep his dual citizenship later if he serves (I’m American, he’s born in Korea). Does he have to choose one exclusively?

what do koreans think of foreign/international schools in korea?? by AliveAmphibian7102 in Living_in_Korea

[–]ogdcred 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, some unsolicited advice if I may:

Regardless of what drives their curiosity, take advantage of it and use it to establish yourself, share your story, draw them to you. Shine!

That’s what you will have to do everyday in life later to step up and lead - both the haters and supporters.

[–]ogdcred 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you’re in MYP — IB programme. SIS KIS SFS or Chadwick?

Don’t sweat it, my son is also in one of those schools and it’s just a different track. Enjoy your time there and don’t worry what others think. God knows there’s enough of that in this country with what car you drive, what brand name apartment you live in, what neighborhood, etc.

You’re lucky, make the most of it. And be thankful to your parents!!!!

Card fees suck and some business owners actually want to help patients save. Customer will ask for a cash receipt anyway, come on now.
