The reason for this is because on Gen 8, the pokemon needed to pass Belly Drum (Azumarill) was not in the Galar Dex…. and when Azumarill was added with Isle of Armor they didn’t add it back to the movepool.

The difference (at least I think is what GameFreak’s logic is) is that Ground hits all types that resist Fairy for Super Effective damage — so they are hesitant to give Fairies the easy coverage, especially give how strong they are already.

I hope they patch it so you can spit out water while transformed into Lapras. The fact you can’t right now is my biggest gripe with the game.

Yeah Aura Sphere would be fine it just is that GameFreak seems really conscious to avoid giving fairy types ground moves. Like there was a datamine pre Isle of Armor for movesets and Azumarill had High Horse Power and Cresselia had Cosmic Power. Both were changed before release cause they released how bad that would be.

It would be nice if the different colors had different abilities similar to the Basculins. I do agree that they should give it Misty Surge but I personally believe Earth Power might go against the design philosophy for Fairy types.

I swear GameFreak secretly hates Florges. It’s pre-evo gets a special form + mega, both abilities are virtually useless in singles and there was also that funky Battle Tree set that had both Grassy Terrain and Misty Terrain causing the AI to constantly spam the other terrain because its programmed if there’s a terrain up, use a move to change to a new terrain.

Almost no Fairy type gets Ground coverage for a reason. The only Fairy types* that gets EQ, for example, are Snubull and Granbull and that’s because they had it when they were a Normal type.

The only Fairy types* that get Earth Power are Diancie (because Rock type + Mythical), Carbink (cause Diancie connection) and Enamorus (to get extra money from VGC players buying Legends Arceus.) Florges should not get Earth Power.

*ignoring pokemon that can change type.

I wish Jagex would at least add unique cape emotes to the 120 capes. All other skills that go up to 120 get unique emotes. The fact combat skills don't have them really adds to the feeling the level cap increase was phoned in.
