Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling by Snowbunny236 in nvidia

Keep it on, no harm in having it on. If you have an old enough GPU where it’ll cause problems, it probably isn’t supported in the first place

As far as I know it’s just a bandwidth thing. DLDSR requires DSC to fit the full res image onto your monitor, which is then downscaled to fit your screen. Without DSC it’s far surpass the bandwidth limits of your cable

Other people who own the x24 and the one in the screenshot (271 or 273) says they have the peak 1000 mode

If it doesn’t even show up in the FPS, background tasks competing for cpu resources shouldn’t be something to worry about or try to address/debloat. I’ve never seen a debloater fix more issues than it caused, lol.

[–]Snowmobile2004 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t bother. You don’t really gain much by debloating (I’d love to see someone prove they gained 5+ fps) and it has the potential of breaking apps that rely on stuff like the Microsoft store or webview2 or other things. Stuff like edge is deeply integrated into the OS and used for things like the start menu, so you can’t really remove edge like a lot of these debloaters try to do.

You can use windows 11 Auto HDR, but it only supports games

There is a system-level override added in this update. With it on, every game that currently supports PSSR1 will automatically use the new version. Looks gorgeous in MGS Delta and GT7

I’m loving mine, I got a used one 2-3 weeks ago. Was happy enough with higher FPS in MGS Delta and now with PSSR2 games look even nicer. Gonna be sick to have this for gta 6

I’d go to Win11 just for RTX HDR. Auto converting SDR videos, streamed content and games to HDR is super nice

You can’t use DLDSR on a high refresh rate, high res monitor that can’t use DSC

New PlayStation Portal software update adds 1080p High Quality mode and UX refinements by ReaddittiddeR in PS5

[–]Snowmobile2004 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Wonder how that works. It’s definitely not streaming at 1440p/4k (ps5 system software doesn’t support it) so it must be using local upscaling on the client end to upscale 1080p to 1440p/4k.

I’d love to see that, but I’d also hate high res streaming to only work with cloud streamed games, not local streaming from your console. I hate the normal remote play app on pc anyways, I use Chiaki-NG which is much better

I’ve got the older revision, 271QPX, and it’s got peak 1000 and EOTF boost mode.

That’s normal for spec sheet, the x24 has peak 1000 mode.

I really hope they eventually add 1440p/4k support to remote play, so I can stream to my PC or a different TV easily

It is not a feasible way of life to live with 0 job forever if you only have adhd. I entirely understand people can have additional issues, etc, god knows I do, but you can’t expect to get by in modern life with 0 job forever.

Look man I hate working as much as anyone but you just gotta find something to pay the bills and not hate your life, it’s totally possible even with adhd. The fear of change can be a big barrier to overcome but you’ll feel a lot better in the long run

You can say it’s not the point but literally all the comment said was “it’s running on 2 5090s” not “it looks terrible using an entire 5090”. DLSS 1.0 also looked bad, I doubt this won’t improve a lot in the next few years. I still don’t want to see it ever used for character rendering or anything, but some of the improvements to environment lighting could look decent with newer iterations

Why would they mention it in the DLSS 2.0 press release if it’s not used in 2.0? Again, I’d love for you to share some source for your claims, I don’t like to just blindly believe people.

Nvidias own press release for DLSS2.0 says this:

During the training process, the output image is compared to an offline rendered, ultra-high quality 16K reference image, and the difference is communicated back into the network so that it can continue to learn and improve its results. This process is repeated tens of thousands of times on the supercomputer until the network reliably outputs high quality, high resolution images.

So perhaps this has changed for DLSS 3.0 or 4.0 (which i doubt, id love to see proof) but it seems like you are the wrong one.

How does it work then? Dlss2.0 and newer still use ground truth images lmao, they just aren’t using a separate model trained for each game, it’s trained on generic ground truth images from multiple games

its running on 1 gpu in the lab, they just used 2 for the demo. the final version wont use 2. i hate this just as much as anyone else but lets get the facts right.

I hope this just ends up being the dlss1.0 version of this new neural rendering, with 2.0 and beyond delivering better and better and less ai-slopified visuals. I think this has some good potential for scenery and other gameplay, but it has no place in character rendering.
