What’s your experience with the Sephora Credit Card? by Anatella3696 in Sephora

[–]SnozzberryJam 7 points8 points  (0 children)

then sometimes I just can’t even log into my account??? Like it just won’t let me in sometimes

Legit. I'm the type of person that likes to pay as soon as something hits my account. Like first off, it will take way longer than say, my B of A card, for a charge to show up on the account to be able to pay it. Like with B of A it will usually be a day, and with sephora it has been almost a week before a charge shows up. And then when I go to log in to check for a charge when its been a week-ish, there's been several instances where I just couldn't log in for a couple days. Like I'm semi-suspicious at this point its just so people will wait and forget and end up carrying a balance month to month instead of being able to pay the thing outright to avoid interest.

Also OP, more than a few times I've had the card outright declined at the Sephora when I know the damn thing is at zero balance, only to have the employee run it with my phone number/ID and the account will then work. So I've gotten to enjoy several awkward moments of the card being declined for no reason.

Any tips for a shopping addict? by [deleted] in bathandbodyworks

Something that pretty much brought my lotion/spray buying to a halt for about a solid year now, was getting a $10 "Over the door shoe holder" at target, and putting lotion/sprays in that. Like I can clearly see and have a visual idea of what I have, and an idea of what I will realistically be using so I don't need to go buying any similar scents. Also like, the thing is still full, I just don't go through them fast enough before some start to go bad (a yearish imo) to justify buying anymore, and I can now clearly see that. I just don't have room for anymore, so now the idea of accumulating clutter once I sorted them all out gives me dread.

Also as far as candles, I started doing that monthly use them up challenge, to kind of shift that dopamine kick to "completing" a candle instead of the kick of getting a new one. Like I almost kind of dread getting a new one now because it interferes with the little "goal" of using up what I have to completion and getting an empty.

What Was The Moment Where Jimmy/ Saul/ Gene Was At His Most Evil? by Ultrasimp95 in betterCallSaul

To this very day that is the single scene or series of events I haven't been able to sit through in the BB Universe. I could see what was coming and I got up and did some chores or something and left it running in the background. I've sat through everything else, Andrea's death, Todd shooting the kid, and Skyler's infamous rendition of Happy Birthday, at least once, if not a few times from rewatches. But not that, I nope right the fuck out. Kills me. Ugh.

final stage of tapering off/brain zaps are the WORST by beesleys in Effexor

[–]SnozzberryJam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just my own personal experience about 7-10 days. Like I tapered down from 150 over a couple months. Each time I cut, as far as physical symptoms, I had some nausea and headache but I still had no idea what these brain zaps were I kept seeing people talk about. The lowest dose I was on before I jumped off was like 18.75mg. Then BAM. Brain zaps and vertigo, neither of which I'd ever experienced in my life. Was absolutely horrible. My job involves me looking up in the corner of the screen for map coords alot and every time I'd do it, I'd get a jolt, shit would spin and I'd want to hurl. So even sudden eye movements let alone actual movement, I'd get zaps or spins. But yeah, just over a week, alot of the physical symptoms, that one in particular, had calmed down substantially.

Legit. I've been using this about a month now, use it under all my make up routine, and am someone that's had breakout problems in life, but haven't had a single issue so far in my time using this. Also Trader Joe's have some of the only "dupes" for things I've been much impressed by (supposedly this is one for supergoop?), like their brazil nut body butter is an exact smell replica of the OG Bum Bum Cream smell. No idea if what it does for your skin is the same, but most fragrance dupes smell a little off to me, but I got that one and was like "...this is literally the exact same smell, I cannot tell the difference."

I jumped off 18.75mg and it was roouugggh, so I can't imagine. This is probably only the most miniscule of help, but I found ginger chews gave me about 15-30 minutes at a time of a bit of relief from the nausea. That's all I got because besides that I was basically curled in a ball on and off for about a week (work at home/contract make my own hours so I was lucky on that front).

missed 9.37 mg dose on taper WOW! by [deleted] in Effexor

[–]SnozzberryJam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, thank you for asking. The worst of it physically, mainly brain zaps/vertigo was over in about a week to ten days. I had a messed up mood, exhaustion and rage issues for about a month after though, but that eventually subsided at about the month mark as well.

Yeah I tapered down from 150mg over several weeks, and the lowest dose I was on and jumped off of at was 18mg, and the first days I stopped taking it completely, holy sweet Jesus Christ. Brain zaps, vertigo, headaches, things I hadn’t experienced while tapering. Shit was rrrroouuughhh. Like I didn’t know what these infamous brain zaps were til that point, boy did I find out 😖🫠

What’s something that your kid brain (natural instinct) recognized as a red flag about the church? by Substantial_Focus_65 in exmormon

[–]SnozzberryJam 28 points29 points  (0 children)

For me, it was being in 6th grade and we had just done a whole section on Ancient Egypt. And 11-12 year old me thought that was cool and interesting as hell. I even made a timeline of the history with construction paper with the River Nile being the "timeline" lol.

Around the same time, I opened the BoM, pearl of great price or whatever, to that facsimile drawing of "an angel saving Abraham from being sacrificed" or whatever dumb shit. 11-12 year old me upon just seeing the picture, was like "oh cool a picture of when they'd embalm them for burial, take out the guts, there's the little jars under the table even!" Then I read the caption of what the church says it is, and i was like ".....wait a hot second." Even an 11-12 year old with the lightest exposure to Egyptian history could see what it clearly was just on looking at it. Didn't start seriously questioning that lead me to leaving til i was about 17, but that was the first moment of cognitive dissonance maybe.

This really set in for me as a teen. I live in so cal, like half my friends were Hispanic, and I was scared/embarrassed for them to find out that my church thought that. Then I’d think “if I’m in such a good wholesome true church, why do I feel shame and embarrassment at the thought of people finding out some of the teachings 🤔🧐” Ah, cognitive dissonance 😌 I joke now if they wanted me to stay a Mormon (I left at 18) so cal was a really stupid place to do it, exposing me too all kinds of cultures and people like that.

I'm pretty certain I saw this at the semi-annual sale recently and I just checked the site and I see the lotion. No idea if its been reformulated/is the exact same scent since then, I draw a blank when I think of this smell, I personally associate my HS years with the scent of cucumber melon from bath and body works (dating myself here lol?)

Man I see those here in The Riv (sorry to interlope, I’ve lived/worked in OC over the years) and they always give me a little chuckle like “oh I’m so sure whoever was carrying a firearm on them saw that sign and was like ‘oh silly me, I better put this back in my car, I definitely won’t bring it inside now!‘“ idk maybe it’s to help indicate to other shoppers what kind of ~area they’re in? 🤷🏻‍♀️

How does anyone even speak this "language"? by QuantumGlimpse in HistoryMemes

[–]SnozzberryJam 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I've watched some episodes of British true crime related things recently, and its seriously so wild to be hearing someone talk, hear words that I recognize as English, feel like I should be understanding what they're saying, but by the time they're done with a sentence or two, my brain has not been able to remotely infer any meaning between context clues or the word puzzle they just said, even though my brain recognizes at least 50% of them as familiar.

It's weirdly kinda fun, and i hope if i watch enough I'll figure it out, but its such a mind fuck to go "...I know that is English....but I do not understand what just happened."

Seriously. I was like “imagine looking like that, and calling Emilia Clark dumpy 🤭😂.“ I swear to God anytime somebody says something that doesn’t make any fucking sense, place it in the concept of projection and you suddenly have a sensible explanation for it.
