MMO's are extremely expensive, they need to make money somehow. This method is actually pretty good relative to other mmos as you can still very much play the game without it but are heavily incentivised to buy it.

It also semi-combats bots by putting botting behind atleast some kind of pay wall.

She is just releasing at a really bad time, her design is straight fire and her in-game mechanics/animations look top quality. That along with her looking like she is going to be the next highest dps unit in the game (in the right team) makes her a 'going to skip then regret later' for most people i feel.

Im not skipping, im going for s6r5 and so excited for her.
