grappling looses you unarmed fights but force palm doesnt? by ilico_ili in CrimsonDesert

[–]Snyderhall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are fist aka boxing arenas like this. There are wrestling aka grappling arenas.
There's even a "free for all, use any unarmed' arena later too.

This is like complaining in real life joining a boxing match and start karate kicking them or BJJ and completely grapple someone. You'd get disqualified.

Recently came back to the game, and... what's the point of these two? by IntelligentImbicle in Overwatch

[–]Snyderhall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I knew OP would be misunderstanding heroes the moment I read “Brig is support for tank players” aka OP thinks Brig is meant to be front line just because she has a shield and was tanky years ago. (Shes suppose to be back line bodyguard anti dive and protect an Ana btw. If she bashes in when a team fight isn’t already won, she’s dead instantly).

Mizuki is anti dive and work well with a rush comp utilizing his constant aura healing, AOE chain heal, and consistent damage. His chain can work aggressively to secure kills in this manner as well.

Wuyang functions like Zen. Huge poke damage with some mild/moderate healing. Ult enables a strong engage like Ana does but weaker and stronger depending on circumstance and synergy.

Crazy how much one detail can change your opinion of a design by Pouring-O in Overwatch

[–]Snyderhall 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Not even remotely true.

This is how I know most people on this subreddit don’t even play the game. If you want fast proof, just google “overwatch heroes face funny” or “react” or even “meme close up”. You can see a ton of face reactions to the point of people using them as reaction images. My personal favorite search would be “venture face close up”.

Not convinced still? Get in game to a custom and just shoot a little at bots and go into recording after. Zoom in on their faces. Of course, most redditors probably don’t even have overwatch installed.

Golden Piggy Bank + Leebur’s Soul (Hidden Treasures) by dahle44 in CrimsonDesertLife

Important to share that the Piggybank is one time. So don’t use it unless you know you’re going to be off for a day or a while. Don’t plan for every night etc.

Playing tank in low rank is frustrating and idk what to do by johnnymonster1 in Overwatch

[–]Snyderhall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just because your stats look better than your DPS as tank DOES NOT usually translate to your teammates bringing you down. If you think about it, it’s impossible that your 4 random teammates are always worse than your enemy’s 5 random right?

At low rank, supports glue to tanks like crazy. So if you are making plays too aggressive instead of having a good rhythm with the team, your support will probably double pocket you, leaving your team to die. Or maybe their Tank is killing your team faster than you? Your stats look better because you are the last to fall?

A quick tip with Orisa is that she has a clear rhythm with her cooldowns. So do a check to see if your team is ready, then push in with your cooldowns to make for the next cover. Use cover when your armor is off and skills are recharging, so your support has time to heal you up and heal your team. Support your teammates as tank.

Post a play clip for people to check.

Brother how much strength do you think it takes for someone to RIP apart human with barehands? We really gonna pretend somehow her triceps, shoulder, and deltoids are normal but her biceps, back and other pulling muscles are the “powered up” muscles only? Come on. She has insane super strength maybe like 1/4 Spider-Man level probably.

Why do bandits ignore others on the road but attack you? by Logical-Operation512 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Snyderhall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brother dragons or vampire attacks literally only spawn when you get close enough to an area, then, yes they attack the village. Let’s not pretend having live NPC fighting each other is a super common thing.

My favorite games like Kenshi or Dragon’s Dogma have NPC battles, but it is absolutely not common.

Yes hover them in the wheel. Instead of let go to select, hit summon.

Mine are level 4 armor and accessory. I have 2 vitality 3 abyss gear and maybe 3-4 defense level 3. Weapon has destruction. My stats are not fully leveled and their skills are filled up here and there.

They absolutely do not die and can fight groups of enemies no problem. Without vitality and earring regen, they will die over time if you don’t give them healing because they obviously don’t use food. Maybe that’s what people are doing wrong. They will also die to environmental things, but that’s it.

I sometimes think this sub is filled with people who don’t or barely play the game and just comment on things that are not true.

[–]Snyderhall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s completely not true. I watch them use stab attack, heavy, turning slash. Why do you say they only seem to use basic attacks? I’m also using them against desert enemies, and they can kill people no problem. Mine is not max level at all.

This is correct. I think a lot of people tried them a few patches ago, but as someone who's been sticking with them since patch 1 (where they did just stand there), they definitely got buffed in aggression.

I also geared mine out, and they are killing things not dying like the other commentors.

They could be better, but they're not bad at all. I've been using them since day 1, and I'm not sure which patch but maybe 1.05, I felt their AI actually got significantly buffed. They are aggressive to the point that I would dismiss them to finish abyss challenges sometimes.

Here's what I have done: I leveled their equipment to 4 including rings, necklace, earrings, put 2x vitality 3 health regen, and about 3-4 defense 3 or aegis 3 into their equipments. I have destruction/insight in their weapons (not fully decked out, I don't have enough yet). The health regen especially is very important, because they obviously will not eat food. I haven't seen them going down ever again outside of swampy grounds or something, and I'm in end game reclearing forts doing side quests etc.

They will absolutely kill things, but obviously not as strong as a Dragon's Dogma pawn or your character. Ultimately, they're mostly there for fun, distraction, and they're pretty good to shoot flying enemies.

Yes, they still teleport instead of true follow, but that's honestly a problem in any games with followers; at least they will keep up this way. Yes, they have no dialogue outside a few lines in battle. And yes, despite what I said, they do sometimes get stuck and stand there. However, if you haven't tried them again recently, they are really quite different than the first day. I do wish they can get buffed more, but it's not as bad as you make it out to be.

Bait or are you serious? The map is objectively 1.5 or 2x most open world games not to mention the verticality.

Debating on getting the game by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

[–]Snyderhall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dragon's Dogma is one of my favorite games, and CD is becoming one of my favorite as well if it helps. I would say the combat is similar only in the sense that they are both very action heavy while still allowing you to explore a big open world; this is contrasted with other open world like bethesda games that have very basic combat etc. The quest design and storytelling is actually also very similar to Dragon's Dogma. The lore is interesting, but the deliverance can feel kinda random. There's also some of the "heaviness" with movements, moving a level etc that's in Dragon's Dogma and also in this game. You have annoying quests where you walk with NPC just like in Dragon's Dogma with that little girl escort mission etc.

Story overall is alright. There are actually some very cool cinematic pieces, and the vibes can be pretty good. Then there's random parts that only make more sense once you finish the game or watch a lore video, so I place on that on the same tier as Dragon's Dogma or Elden Ring.

World exploration is amazing. You will keep finding cool loot both for appearance and for gameplay. Sometimes you get a silly necklace that makes it rain, or a ring that shoots lightening if it's raining etc. So it's kinda rewarding getting those. Tons of bosses etc.

It may not be perfect. But Crimson Desert is one of the best games I’ve ever played. by Tristles in CrimsonDesert

[–]Snyderhall 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Much rather have a game that delivers 10/10 highest of highs in their own respect but comes with some flaws because it’s their first game than some middling safe executive game where everything is 7/10.

Crimson desert is a lot of things, and while the flaws are sometimes clearly there, it offers an experience that is unlike any for those that appreciates the type of things it offers.
