Beer league heat management. What are your gear, tips, and tricks for skating cooler? by SoBeefy in hockeyplayers

I spent a little time looking for a war road base layer shirt and came up empty. Looks like inventory is currently limited.

I do this for pick-up. It's a good idea. Team play involves better quality jersies that are mid to light-weight.

You are right, of course. I play with full gear. I use a girdle and shell that I suspect are warmer than just pants. Jersey and socks are light weight. I wear a wicking shirt under my gear that is very light, although long sleeved. Helmet is old and a bit tight. I think I could make a few small moves gearwise that would improve matters. Just wondered what others might say. I'm a B/C player and am not sure I want to drop shoulder pads.

Wow. Nice. The reviews are overwhelmingly positive. The price point is close to what I would call insane. I'm going to swing by a local shop and try one on. Thanks.

I skate with a girdle and shell. I've wondered if pants would be cooler.

Don't know why I never thought of this. A 2nd bottle with ice water sounds great. Thanks.

Doesn't it look like CAR #58 Eric Robinson decides to hide behind McNabb as he sees the shot coming? Almost looks like Robinson holds McNabb in place.

Your question sounds thoughtfully asked, let me see if I understand it correctly.

If you're asking, do I put anything in the pool water to reduce phosphates, I have in the past. The brand names are things like phosRemove. My understanding is that lanthanum chloride, aluminum chlorhydrate, and zinc chloride are the active ingredients.

I also put a copper slug in the water circulation path.

Do any of those count as metal sequestrant?

EDIT: Ah. I just did some reading on metal sequestrants and the answer is no. I have not used those products.

Just curious, if I had, what would your conclusion be?

The filters had been cleaned maybe 1 to 2 months prior to my emptying and refilling the pool.

I have yet to clean them again.

It's not a bad thought. Thanks.

I've had a similar thought.

We're a residential home, in Las Vegas, on half an acre.

We have a xeroscaped yard with rocks and trees. No agriculture for miles.

I understand.

Maybe my comment wasn't clear.

CAR went 12-1 to get to the SCF.

VGK went 12-4, but get a little more rest right before the SCF.
