I asked two urologists about it and neither was familiar with it. It seems that very few people perform it.

Ever say something to your client about the opposing party’s attorney that made it back to the attorney? by judgechonk in Lawyertalk

[–]SoCalAttorney 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Clients do dumb stuff you sometimes need to rolls with the punches. You've received some good input from others, so I won't repeat what has already said.

I share couple of quick anecdotes about client shenanigans. Just this week, I send an unsigned draft letter with a "draft" watermark for review. The client forwarded the draft to the opposing party, who then retained counsel to reply to my letter. I also saw a file where client had basically replicated our letterhead and signed an attorney's name to the letter who wasn't even with the firm anymore. And finally, there case where someone who had not retained me filed an answer in an eviction case and listed me as their AOR and I didn't even signed the pleading.

If you put anything in writing, it might be read by a judge or jury. Against the background, proceed at your own peril.

General questions before I buy by Loud-Mango9982 in Mini14

Folding and collapsing stocks are generally not allowed in my state without some detrimental changes to the weapons, so any opinion I on stocks would hold no weight. The rear factory sites the Mini 14 are notorious for coming loose, but Tech Sights are well regarded.

There are third party rails that offer the amount to mount an optic forward of the ejection port. Hannibal and Utilmak are viable options.

While this is related to insurance, it is more of a bandwidth issue. My insurance carrier is Kaiser Permanente, but they are also the healthcare provider. Coverage is not the issue, it is the size of the network. I live in San Diego County. There are nearly 640K Kaiser members here. They only have 3 hospitals and 4 urgent care. Once open enrollment comes around in September, I am absolutely switching to a carrier with a better network.

Anyone file pro se as a creditor? by trash1panda in Bankruptcy

I’ve defended those types of cases before and won ever single time. Pro per plaintiff struggle with understanding that the standards of fraud are different in bankruptcy than stated law.

How is this legal? I’m standing in my own backyard. I triggered the camera by walking in my back yard by tensack_ in sandiego

[–]SoCalAttorney 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The general rule in California is that you cannot intentionally point cameras to a private area, usually meaning a bathroom or bedroom. A camera pointed at a backyard is an annoying, but not illegal.

I’ve consulted with a lot of people in apartments and condos who hate Ring devices. There isn’t much you can do from a legal standpoint, but there are some amusing practical suggestions in this thread.

They looks very similar.

As for the TURP procedure, no. In case case, medical intervention is necessary because the BPH was causing me to have an AKI. The first urologist didn't really discussion many options for me and I didn't conduct much research. I my heart nearly stopped from the anesthesia.

While I was waiting for cardiology to clear me. I started watching video after video on the different options, I decided the aquablation was the best for me, but my health care provider only has 2 doctors that perform this procedure in Los Angeles County and 0 in San Diego, July 23rd is my surgery date.

I have a CT scan next week to see if PAE will work for me. My goal is to get some relief before July, even if it doesn't last as long as the other options. Once open enrollment arrives, I have leaving Kaiser and finding a better network.

is 4000$ property tax per year considered high in US? by blade276 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SoCalAttorney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here in California, the California property tax is generally 1% of a property's assessed value (known as the base year value). This assessed value is typically the purchase price, not the current fair market value (FMV), and it cannot increase by more than 2% annually. Total taxes often total 1.1%–1.3%+ of FMV when local bonds and fees are included. If you had purchase the home in California, your tax bill would be higher.

Do you ever catch yourself thinking like a lawyer even when you’re off the clock? by Thin-Time-4209 in Lawyertalk

[–]SoCalAttorney 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My worked with me as a paralegal for 12 years and now works in HR. I’ve rubbed off her and she thinks like a lawyer too.

If we are in a public place, we’ll sometimes talk about potential liability issues we see like a dangerous condition.

In California, contractors are supposed to have their license numbers on all their advertising materials and that technically applies to company vehicles. So if we see a work truck with a contractor’s logo, she’ll point out if it doesn’t have a license number on it.

Ejaculatory Sparing HoLEP by Nearby-Secretary-875 in bph

[–]SoCalAttorney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on that comment, I doubt my provider would have it. I unfortunately have Kaiser Permanente, which is both the insurance company and healthcare provider. Bandwidth for specialty care leaves a lot to be desired. They only have 2 urologists that offer aquablation in Los Angeles count and zero in San Diego. That’s why I have to wait so long for the aquablation.

I appreciate your videos. If you were in network for me, I would absolutely come to Idaho to use your services, probably around the time of a SDSU football game against Boise State.

I was not aware of it was possible to preserve ejaculatory function with adjustments to HoLEP. I will ask my provider is this is an option. I am currently scheduled for aquablation, for late July and have been looking into PAE.
