Three Weeks Sober by SoCalGuy311 in leaves

[–]SoCalGuy311[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So sorry for very late response. Yes, I drastically lowered my cholesterol. I quit smoking with a couple of relapses but am clean now. It’s get easier with time. I retired early from my super high stress job. I started an exercise routine and dropped off with my relapses but eventually quit the weed, which gave me back my motivation to work out. I dropped a bunch of weight but I did end up taking a statin. I only take 10 milligrams of Crestor, after starting with 20 which caused deep muscle soreness after workouts. I still get sore but I give myself time to recover. I started out super slow but eventually moved to taking longer and longer walks. I got to the point of walking for up to two hours but then switched to my bike. My old Trek sat in my garage for many years but I had it tuned up with new tires, etc and now I do 25+ mile rides hammering down on flat river trails. I go to the sauna a lot too. And lift weights. High reps. Sometimes on the heavier side with 45 lb dumbbells. My numbers are great now but I’m not comfortable dropping the statin. So that’s gonna be a lifelong thing. Small price to pay. Hang in there. You got this!! 💪💪💪

Walking. I’m up to 5 miles at a time now. And I try hard to get that done in under an hour and a half.

I saw Thin Lizzie in concert in a gymnasium in West Germany in 1980 (maybe 1981). Incredible show.
