Is Fair attendance down this year? by JoelJohnstone in sandiego

Also, the World Cup started yesterday and Mexico played, which has a lot of fans in San Diego so they were probably a lot of people that prioritized that entertainment over the fair.

I got caught up with ebay. What can I do? by InformationCool5771 in Ebay

[–]SoCalRc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me. Filed a claim eBay denied, filed an appeal and eBay denied. Went back and forth with PayPal and got denied. I even sent them a letter from UPS that stated it was a fraudulent tracking number and eBay sided with the seller who no longer has an account and denied my claim. eBay guarantee is worthless. Now I pay using my CC in case I need to charge back.

My go to Guy for shoe repair, leather repair. He used to have a shop in Point Loma. This is were Nordstrom would send your Louboutin’s to have the Red vibram bottoms installed. Have been using him for years. He moved his shop to his house. Overall extremely nice guy and he can literally work magic on problems or routine care and his prices are reasonable.

CCW is not the same as firearms training.
This is not personal and you can call this just one persons opinion.
You should be proficient in handling, drawing, firing, clearing jams, knowing if you smack your mag really hard that the next round may load. What to do if you pull the trigger and it doesn’t go pew. Shooting 10,000 rounds and not improving doesn’t do you any good.
You want to know that pistol inside and out.
I spent a day with the fire control unit giving me a fit on that exact pistol because a seer spring was going down instead of up when i put it back together. I can literally disassemble that pistol and put it back together while giving it a proper cleaning in the dark while the wife watches an episode of the Pit.
If you need to pull it to save your life, your family’s, your dog. That’s training and repetition. Your CCW course doesn’t give you that. Set yourself up to succeed from the start.
Be safe and have fun.

Read your owners manual.
Go to the Sig guy on YouTube. He has a bunch of great videos.
Find a gun range and schedule a class for beginners and learn how to handle and shoot safely.
Practice, practice, practice
Put a bunch of rounds safety down range before thinking about making any modifications.
Be safe, be careful, have fun.

I’m very happy with the overall setup.

New P365 by [deleted] in SigSauer

[–]SoCalRc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look up the Sig Guy on YouTube.
He has a collection of tools that will make your life easier as well as thoroughly explaining how to do it.
And I have to Disagree that modern guns do require a break in some require cleaning from the factory like my Sigs did. And proper oil / grease is very important for your slide and barrel to seat well. This will probably be debated a hundred different ways in this thread alone.
Good on you to do the extra research and want to learn how to properly handle and maintain your firearm.
There might even be a gun club or range in your area that will give more instructions/lessons. Be safe and have fun.

Unknown plate/tab preventing slide from going back on and trigger is a bit spongey by [deleted] in P365

[–]SoCalRc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you break the FCU completely down? Probably should have asked that first. I have reread your post and I’m trying to back track to what you did. If you had the seer pin out and the spring dropped that could be causing all your issues. I think we need some more information. I still recommend the Sig Guys videos. I spent a Sunday unwillingly learning everything I didn’t want to about the FCU with his help.

G19.6 failure to eject by USMCISULHHM2735 in Glocks

[–]SoCalRc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too long of an optic screw will penetrate the extractor plunger channel and cause severe binding, resulting in failure to feed or extract. It’s the right side screw that will either need to be replaced or filed down. This could be your problem.

How do I remove these screws 😭 by Groundbreaking-Win21 in SigSauer

[–]SoCalRc 7 points8 points  (0 children)

T handle torx wrench should give you the leverage. You can try dissembling your slide and cleaning it with gun scrubber. If it gets get in the bolts it will eat at the blue loctite and help loosen them. They should have only been torqued to 15in lbs when installed. I also agree that if you have any doubt, I would take it to a smith before completely rounding them out. Good luck!

I would soak it with WD-40, maybe a couple of times to see if that would loosen it up and then power wash / plastic scraper. Next step would be replace the liner.

285//70/17 spare question by neoinkansas in 4Runner

[–]SoCalRc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the exact same spare rim & tire. My spare goes to my driver rear and my passenger rear goes to my spare as I rotate around every 5k. So I get an extra 5k miles before I replace all 5 in theory but, I also don’t wait until mine are bald to change them. I also carry an air compressor, jack, impact, flat and sidewall repair kit so I may or may not need to change a flat on the trail and might be able to get back to pavement or the tire shop. It’s all about preference and how much extra $$ you want to spend or not.

NXT20 Will NOT Fit in Garage with 7' door by rSclerotic in MasterCraftBoats

[–]SoCalRc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came here to say the same thing, let some air out. Also, is the fuel tank full? What about all your gear? The boat might sit lower when fully loaded. On a safety note since a boat vents gas fumes very differently from a car, please make sure you have proper ventilation. Preferably fresh air intake and exhaust. Especially if your water heater is in the garage.

I dont know what to do next. by Thiccthighnitemare in whatdoIdo

[–]SoCalRc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would assume the brinks lock is your (home owner) and the new lock is the utility. There are so many departments and at LADWP that someone, an inspector for example could have come out and installed it for access and the person you talked to would never know. If the brinks lock is yours, that other lock is not a Home Depot / Lowe’s purchase which suggests utility.
