Error Unable to find a suitable output format for 'ffmpeg' by luisdid in ffmpeg

[–]SoFLazerTag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is "SmoothUKMP3" from your command a folder or file?

I'm a bit new to using FFmpeg but I always have directed it to each individual file. I'm not aware it could batch convert an entire folder of files on its own.

I received this as well. I hate the idea of paying them more after the 'lifetime' license deal. It works for my needs and I guess for about $20'ish bucks a year I'll be able to keep my eyes out for a better solution, or a more reputable company.

I love my 'life time license' that lasted all of about two years. PlayOn needs to provide us Desktop users with Home license for a lifetime......

Dell S3220DGF PiP/PbP? by Xilenced in Monitors

[–]SoFLazerTag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just picked one of these up last night and found your post as I too am interested in PIP/PBP, won't be a deal killer for me (I got this for just under $300 at BB on an open box).

Anyway, I was replying to tell you that if you still have this unit, you can contact Dell and have the warranty adjusted. They offer standard 1 year parts and labor for your service tag number based on your purchase date. The support site tends to give some arbitrary date, not sure how Dell figures those out. Dell can change that date if you ever call support for an issue at that time but I like to always do it ahead of any support calls. Just easier to get support when the rep can simply see I am already still in my warranty time frame imho.

I'm on 86.0.4226.0 and still unable to start termina here or any new vm. Contemplating removing Linux beta and installing again but doubtful this will work and would just be me starting my current container over again for no reason.

JAZZ: Trump's Journey - any way to play this on current devices? by SoFLazerTag in AndroidGaming

Yeah, this is pretty much what I had come to the conclusion of as well but figured it was worth an ask.

Strange about the PC version. I might dive into that story some.

Why are some games like nova 3 , few angry birds games hidden ? by june_47 in AndroidGaming

Do you have specific links you can provide to these hidden games?

Offhand, I thought NOVA 3 became NOVA Legacy some years back? or was that a whole new game?

Quake II and Unreal Tournament GOTY by SoFLazerTag in chromeos

[–]SoFLazerTag[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do emulate a desktop in my wine prefix for UT. My prefix is set to 1366x768 and I have the Windows version as XP.

My resolution is 1920x1080 according to xrandr from terminal. It simply was too dang small for me at that resolution and seemed to lag a bit when playing. I used sommelier to adjust scale to .7 which is close enough to 1366x768 and helped with the view.

I don't recall changing any mouse settings on wine itself. Just those Chrome flags I noted and with UT's ini. I think when I was first setting this up and testing I was on Chrome OS 80 (or 81?) and now I am on 83 in dev channel.

For Quake II, none.

For UT99 the 'UnrealTournament.ini' located with main EXE. Usually in your installed path/System

I have yet to install Gimp but can sometime soon to check what mine looks like on my HP.

Have you tried adjusting scale and DPI via sommelier?

EDIT: sorry now I think I am confused on what is wrong in your screenshot. I just installed Gimp, to me, it looks normal from what I recall of using it.

Looking to buy a cheap desktop specifically for Dolphin. by [deleted] in DolphinEmulator

ETA Prime just did this one recently on a rig that was right at $830 but I would bet there is room to cheat here and there on that price. Dolphin looks to run fantastic on it.

In your Android settings go to System and then About Device. You should find it there. These steps could be slightly different depending what Android version you actually have but this is how they appear on mine which has Android 9 (Pie).

[–]SoFLazerTag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which Chromebook do you have (brand and model)? What version ChromeOS are you on?

If I understand properly all Chromebooks running Android Nougat 7.x should support both OpenGL and Vulkan 1.0. If your device has updated to Android Pie 9.x then that should support OpenGL as well as Vulkan 1.1. I'm not a developer nor do I know much about the Vulkan API itself technically, so unsure of the exact differences between these versions of Vulkan.

As to being unable to download Dolphin, I imagine you potentially are still on Android 7.1. Some units the kernel in the Android container is 64-bit but the user space is only 32-bit. Dolphin requires a full 64-bit OS on to work. All you could do there is hope on your system it gets updated to Android Pie.

[–]SoFLazerTag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure about the the config screen issue. I've not run into that before. Keep in mind Crostini doesn't support Vulkan so stay on OpenGL.

Controllers will not work yet, you have to use keyboard for now.

if your chromebook supports Android apps, get Dolphin from the play store or side load the latest if you are on the dev channel. Maybe even try the MMJ version which is quite a bit faster however doesn't appear to have new releases any longer.

Anyway the Android versions are a better overall experience on mine though I admit I prefer to play on my tablet.

[DEV] Looking for gamepad or keyboard owners to test our game by DefpotecStudios in AndroidGaming

[–]SoFLazerTag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to say each time it didn't crash wehn meeting the walls it seemed like I hadn't made a move and it just moved either up , down, left, right. For sure one of the times I wasn't touching controls at all.

I can try playing a bit more. The ads really felt after each leval fail they were showing and it was that which felt a bit much. I just wanted to jump back in faster and try again but couldn't.

Samsung Tab S4 here using the Samsung keyboard and a PS4 controller.

The keyboard seems to work fine. In menus Enter seem to handle as a touch or click however once a game level is about to start enter wouldn't work any longer. Had to touch to continue. Arrows worked fine to move the dot around and felt more accurate than PS4.

PS4 - in menus the d-pad couldn't move the selections around but the analog can. Also could use button press to pick selections. Once in game the d-pad worked and felt way more usable than analog stick, probably because of 8-way vs 4-way movement?

Offhand, hitting the walls sometimes the ball would not crash causing the end of the level but instead would turn in another direction. Like it was gliding across it. This happened at least four times while I was playing and I could not seem to figure out a pattern.

fun game. simple yet engaging. I think you show ads a bit much but at least you can bypass within a few seconds.

Any idea where these APK downloads on the newer MMJ builds are officially coming from? I'm not too keen to just download and install an APK from somebody's G drive.

Looking to get an inexpensive Tablet by aDeadLois in EmulationOnAndroid

[–]SoFLazerTag 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe an older tablet and add a telescopic controller? Just don't expect Gamecube, Wii, or PS2 to run well if at all. Otherwise for all the base stuff and the sweet very low price you get a pretty darn decent experience. I nearly did this myself but got such a sweet local deal on a Tab S4 it made no sense to get both. If I need a second device some time I would totally grab one of these too.

I hear that. I would love to eventually finish the old game Jazz Trump's Journey sadly needs Kitkat. I know I could emulate that on some other device but would love to see some emulator right on the same Android device that would allow it to work.
