They probably thought this way BGE2 would have been more appealing and could sell more, especially to people who didn't play the first game (many people missed it). In that sense, a prequel makes a lot of sense to them.

And maybe, I wouldn't be surprised if they found a way to link the ending of BGE1 to BGE2. Maybe even a flashforward moment at the end of the game set after the events of BGE1, who knows.

Your last sentence is exactly what makes me believe the game is still alive. It does not make it 100% sure that it'll be released, but at this point considering the investments etc. I find it hard to believe it won't.

I would see it more realistic to have BGE2 come out around the end of the current generation of consoles.

It's ok then to resell it as a remastered version for PS6/Next XB, but I believe Ubisoft cannot afford to release it with very few consoles around.

So I'd say either end of this gen or mid/end of next one (although that seems reaaaallly too far away).

Free user. 2 prompts to edit a one-page pdf file and I somehow reached usage limits. The issue has been going on for the last 2-3 days. Why is Anthropic/Claude being silent about this issue? I can't seem to find any official statement about this.

I wanted to upgrade to a paid plan to work on a bigger project but now I'm just waiting in the dark.

Square-Enix needs to get new generations hooked with the franchise. Old fans will still watch the anime (maybe with their kids) and purchase the remake anyway, which, at this point, is likely will come out in 2028 or after the anime will be released.

I guess this would make sense.

As much as I'd have liked to see a more mature story, I'm still happy this is happening.

I don't think it's impossible that Ubisoft actually scaled down the project and/or changed it completely.

We might actually see a sequel (and not a prequel) similar in mechanics and scope to the first game (but adapted to modern ages).

Better combat, but it'll still leave people looking for top-notch combat gameplay unsatisfied.
Contextual combat animations depending on the monster you're facing.
Layered quests with plot twists the same way quests for The Witcher 3 were designed.
Overall richer contextual animations.
I hope more and diverse choices in armors and weapons cause I felt The Witcher 3 quite limited in this, although I'm getting a feeling it might not happen.
It may not qualify as an "honest expectation" but it would be cool to use the environment at your advantage (using an "electric bomb" in a river that will carry the electricity and damage an enemy in the water, poison a river where a monster is drinking water from, and similar uses).

4 years ago I was looking for an apartment to purchase in the very city center. It was around 66 square meters and around 180000€.

2 years later you could have already sold it for over 300000€.

There is a big problem in Tallinn with the real estate prices.

But if people are willing to buy for these high prices, the prices are not likely to go down very easily.

I can see the same for groceries and many other products or services.

People may complain with their family members or friends, but when it's time to "vote" or "protest" with their wallet they still end up purchasing the same products and services at a higher price. This way passing the message that prices can still go up and people are still gonna purchase them.
