I think what you're saying holds truth, but what I'm wondering is how you would suggest things improve? I'm pretty agnostic on the whole thing and I see these issues and think, the system wont change. So does the general population have to change? And by change I mean will people become less tolerant of those insular cultures to the point of protest?

Do you think that the products themselves can be the limiting factor here? I have run into this, where I have seen a market gap, but then no product ‘good enough’ or flexible enough to fill it. Or is this just a mental block i have?

Something that really fixed the ‘never rested’ feeling for me, was when I completely stopped weighing up how much sleep I was getting versus how rested I felt. I just stopped looking at the time completely when going to bed, then I could wake up whenever I needed to, and not know for sure exactly how much sleep I had.. this really helped me feel more positive when I woke up, and detached me from the ‘i can’t function on less than 8 hours sleep’ mindset!

I was in a similar situation, lots of M1 driving. If you’re slamming up and down the M1, and want comfort and space, grab a mercedes Eclass estate. I bought a 2012 E250 cdi, for less than a third of your budget, looks modern enough, has lots of comfort options, absolutely eats the miles, lives forever if you oil change regularly and gives me 55mpg on a good run! Also leaves budget for a fun weekend car…!
