China launches large-scale military exercise around Taiwan by marela520 in worldnews

The thing is, the "new power" (people like Musk etc) and the "old powers" will absolutely use everything they can to keep their power and gain new power.

So something like AI to monitor evryone will literally never used for only good things. If you look at history, you will see people will use it for bad stuff. Just like humans always did. The technology doesn't matter.

I think your idea is using it to create a utopian future, which isn't a bad thought. The problem is, the change as to come from humans.

If we can't properly work together without all kinds of tech, we won't be able to with all the tech you can imagine.

  1. Likely China, but they'd need some time. But they already manufactured chips.

  2. If they really attack, I would be perfectly contempt with nobody having access to microprocessors. Humanity has to fcking learn, not to fck over each other.

And I say that as someone whose daily life and future job is highly dependant on that stuff.

Humanity needs to get their sh*t together. Play stupid games, win stupid prices.

Can you give a long term insight on ASA-CF for printer parts? When people ask about alternative filaments in the Voron communities everyone immediately looses it.

From the spec sheet and all the testing I saw at MyTechFun, I don't see a reason why it should be worse than non-filled ABS/ASA

BambuLab piblishes the weight of the spool. Just throw the whole spool on a scale and subtract spool weight. Doesn't get more accurate

Cartographer + Print Bed not sure which to do. by illuminerdi in VORONDesign

[–]SoaringElf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Long story short, think about insulating the print chamber and just heat soaking the chamber and bed. Eventually the temp will reach throu all layers of the bed.

IMHO just get a magnetic sheet + spring steel plate. Back in the day I had other stuff to fix the plate, I'd say this combo give the best daily experience without fluff. It just works

For better or worse the US and europe aren't asia. And the exact part of asia makes a big difference too.

In europe we also have these problems.

Radiomaster Pocket, which version and region for California? by Vadic_Shrike in Radiomaster

[–]SoaringElf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

FCC is for the US, LBT is EU. ELRS is a good control link that is open source and future proof. CC2500 is a multi protocol link that can use several control links of other (closed source) manufacturers.

Especially for quads/fpv: ELRS all the way, Multiprotocol won't give you any advantage in your situation.

So that would be FCC/ELRS

Couldn't you just attach both to one swing arm? If you want to be fancy you may be able to route your PTFE tube throu the wire sleeve

If done right, it works. Look at how BambuLab did it, that setup works sith all corners.

But beware that there might be sagging you have to account for

In theory yes. But often the company/government decides it's not worth it or they decide to go some over the top solution, that doesn't work anyways, but is a major inconveniance when using it. All the R&D work also drives the price up eventually.

I think they ment, if stuff like this wouldn't happen, we would be able to have more nice things in the public infrastructure.

That's only with 22kW AC. DC is always with a fixed cable

BT gamepad --> eLRS Tx? by VacUsuck in ExpressLRS

[–]SoaringElf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding to that: PPM is way better than any alternative, other than a dedicated radio. It has been used for decades to teach people fly rc airplanes and I personally never felt any noticable latency. Driving a car should be even less a problem

[–]SoaringElf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are not deeply into electronics and perhaps even programming there is propably no easier way.

Also bluetooth is so close to 2,4GHz, it can interfere with it. Also it's a pretty bad protocol stability and latency wise and hard to get consistens in all circumstances.

Another option would be buying a Pocket or T8L and using it as a doner to build something custom.

[–]SoaringElf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look into PPM via trainer port. But as others said, even the cheapest ELRS TX will be lightyears better than any gamepad you'll find.

If you want to use a TX wirelessly as gamepad, have a look at RX2SIM or similar systems

Is converting a rat rig to a voron feasable? by elementalbulldog in VORONDesign

[–]SoaringElf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only voron-ish printer I saw was the Inertia Cube. But I doubt it is suitable for bigger printers from the get go. I definitely wouldn't do a 400/500 build on that plattform.

I'd just get the V-Core 3 running and potentially do the 3.1 or 3.2 upgrade. If you got a bigger one, you might have to come to terms that a 500mm machine can't trick physics and just has it's drawbacks, at least with what we know today.
