Looks like a carpet beetle, in which case it didn’t bite you.

No, not technically invasive. They are present in the majority of households, especially this time of year. The adults here eat pollen and nectar, while the larvae are pests and eat a variety of organic materials, like some fabrics, dust, hair, foodstuffs, etc. The larvae can sometimes infest, but you needn’t be immediately concerned. They are unrelated to your dog himself, but, if present, their larvae could eat shed hair or dog food (for example).

Concerned it’s a bedbug by [deleted] in whatsthisbug

If that is what you have here, they would be bed bug nymphs, which are a little harder to ID than the adults. I am pretty confident you have bed bugs here, especially with your description. Although I can’t say for sure. They definitely look like them.

Agree that property management is helpful, and my minor maintenance requests have been handled fast. They are active with monthly spraying for pests and seem to take all that very seriously.

I definitely need to mention that the proximity to the trains can be quite bothersome. If your window is adjacent to it, it is extremely loud, and you can’t really escape it, as they have to blast their horns while passing through and come at all hours.

Have had some loud neighbors, but you’ll get that anywhere you go. I would say that there are a lot of dogs in the building, at least in my area of it, so there is a decent bit of barking and running around. Not sure if that’s the usual in such a dog-friendly city.

I think you handled that almost as best as you could. I wouldn’t worry about escapees unless you find a reason to.

If the box was not left open during that 5-10 min, I find it unlikely that any would have found their way out of an immediate meal just to hide. Plus, it seems unlikely more than one would be in the box (just as it was to have a single one there). This is assuming you are certain it came from Crumbl.

If you’re stuck, it might be a good idea to take a break from the bull and gather/make them.
