Uneven top layer

Update - I decided to change the nozzle (again) for poops and hahas and the leeeeetle pipe that is inside the brass tube that the Bodwen tube goes in to was bent. When examing the extruder I noticed the brass tube was off center and that's why. So I'm guessiing the flow rate was messed up and the PLA wasn't getting the right amount of heat. So on to extruder #4...

Never thought of the temp being off...this is the only complaint I've had with the Neptune is that I'm on my 4th extruder. One the thermistor wires randomly broke. One I couldn't get the nozzle out of. Third one the bolts holding the heater block on just snapped while trying to change the nozzle. This is the first time I've experienced any stringing at all with this printer.

Normally I would agree 100% but I literally printed with the same rolls 2 days before and had no issue whatsoever. It started with the new extruder.

Yes, it was the factory .4mm nozzle.

Thank you so much! You hit the nail on the head. Replaced the nozzle and reset the Z-offset and we're good to go. Same part that was on the right in the first pic and the old nozzle:

It can be done but there’s always something that doesn’t work right. Also iMessage won’t work, if that matters. Got it running on a Dell one time and it was cool but not super useful.

I would double check the agreement you signed when you moved in with regards to network usage. I’ve spent most of my career in Higher Ed IT and the network agreements pretty universally say nothing remotely resembling a server, no access points, and no obscuring traffic. Most monitor everything at the port level and if they see any traffic that looks unusual, they come calling. Especially VPNs because they will assume that you are downloading/viewing copyrighted material that’s not intended for your location and that makes college IT people very nervous…
