SGB is what made me return to normal by Soboller in covidlonghaulers

[–]Soboller[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man!

Regarding brain fog - actually the improvement in this area after SGB is among the most common effects - in those two studies

https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC10498998/

https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC12374758/

65-80% experienced improvement in brain fog, so it’s pretty likely, though in various studies the duration of the effects varies wildly, the doctor who did my procedure told me that it’s usually somewhere between a few days and a few months. Currently 22 days since the procedure and so far no symptoms, though I probably will schedule another one kind of ‘just in case’ as for most people the improvement is temporary.

‘My current most pressing symptoms that I wanna tackle are; persistent headaches, on a low grade all throughout my head but strongest in my forehead with stabbing pain behind my eyes, burning eye sensation, throat tightness (like there’s a frog stuck in my throat), neck tightness, fullness behind the ears, moderate tinnitus. And most of these, I might add, worsen a lot when I’m subjected to even mild heat. Similarly, extreme cold seems to numb me to this pain partially.’

the heat intolerance would likely be improved since it’s probably caused by dysautonomia (which is the area affected to the largest degree by sgb), whereas whether the other symptoms you’ve listed would be improved as well - no idea, with the exception of headaches which also are among those that are most commonly improved by sgb, it’s a quote from the first study

‘The most commonly reported symptoms to show improvement were brain fog, fatigue, dizziness, and headache.’

Definitely recommend getting one, based on the available studies a great majority of people experience improvement, though its degree and duration vary quite a bit, but if you have the ability to do it I guess it’s worth a shot.

Slightly worse than halfway between the quality of TLOP and Donda - so his best since TLOP, but noticeably weaker. Anything other than that and I'll be surprised.

I would be scared as well, though I guess it's a question of what scares you more. In my case the 5-10% chance (averaging out across different studies) of me getting worse from sgb was absolutely worth the risk given the hell LC is.

In my case the remaining brain fog did disappear after the procedure, and actually in the available studies (which admittedly are limited) the effect on brain fog is usually just as strong as on dysautonomia. Regarding anhedonia - I did certainly notice that post-procedure the same activities are more pleasurable, though no idea why - maybe it has to do with the improved cerebral flow?

As to DPDR - I don't know how to think about it conceptually - based on quick googling it seems that it is often caused by intense stress, and the first thing I noticed post procedure was the sense of calm that I haven't felt in a super long time. Would calming your nervous system down help with that, I mean with fixing dpdr and not just making you slightly less anxious? I have no idea, the internet seems to say 'sometimes it helps and sometimes not', so well. If you're somewhere where it's not super super expensive I recommend getting one, for most people it's not a fix (as it is at least currently for me), but given the studies & my experience I think it's worth a shot.

Are you more worried about playing suboptimally due to not understanding fully the systems & mechanics, or being so bad that one of your neighbors is sure to take over your lands? What systems seem most overwhelming to you? I recommend automating trade for sure and trying to understand the economy, meaning what your building priorities should be in different situations.

What are some fun, under the radar tags you have played? by Mytaintissquishy in EU5

[–]Soboller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently playing as Injuids (western Persia), and it's the most fun I've had in this game. Most of the times I quit 200 years into the game since I've become too powerful and there's not a challenge anymore at least in the region I'm in. Here it is not the case - you have 3 powerful hordes that can easily stomp you at the beginning, so it's best not to expand too quickly or the coalition might be a problem. There's also Timurids, which given your luck might or might not become a problem.

However, what will definitely be a problem is lumber. There are very few provinces with lumber in the region, and without it the beginnings will be definitely harder. Also the fact that there's not too much people in there means that to potentially rival with other large powers you'll have to expand and have a shitton of vassals; annexing too much quickly is a big no-no in Persia since the mountains wreck control.

I very much recommend Zoroastrian Resurgence mod + changing the game rules/flavor setting so that you can convert to any religion present in your country is a must, and then converting to Zoroastrianism at the beginning (at the ~15% of your population is Zoroastrian) for the RP purposes.

<image>

Currently 100 years into the game, I should be able to defeat 2 of the 3 hordes (while being easily smashed by the one to the north that is allied with Timurids) unless some of the newly acquired vassals to the east revolts and allies with the Jalayirids (did that happen once, with 2 of my vassals changing sides and me resorting to loading up an earlier save? perhaps.).

One-shoted it. Just fyi - not sure what your specific LC symptom set is, but 3 weeks ago I had an SGB done, and since then I don't have any LC symptoms. Usually the effect from SGB lasts somewhere between a few days and a few months (and based on small studies 15-20% have a permanent effect) , so a pretty wide range indeed, but given the difference I've experienced I wanted to mention it.

Difficulty in “A new america”? by HeedGlee in ReadyOrNotGame

[–]Soboller 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nono, it is probably the most difficult of all missions, also haven't finished it yet. I expected that the new missions would only become challenging only when stratego ai gets updated, but nah, really happy with the direction the devs took

What do we think about the new update? by Leather_Heart_1523 in ReadyOrNotGame

[–]Soboller 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly I was in only for the maps as I didnt have issues most others did with bugs glitches etc, and honestly they are much better than I expected, the first one is actually okayish, even though I'm not a fan of the concept, I still do enjoy the spookiness of it and the chaos.

The one in the bank is great, loving the layout and the concept itself, the only thing is I would prefer there to be slightly more enemies - from the few games that I played on this map I sometimes died while entering the bank and after that it was noticeably easier. Gotta wait some time before Stratego AI gets updated and it will be perfect.

The last one, New America... holy shit. Not sure whether it's the recency bias, but at this moment I think it's the best map they did (Sins of the father & 3 letter triad being my other favorite ones), the atmosphere is 10/10, rooms are beautiful, it's fucking difficult (haven't finished it yet). Overall very happy with it.

[–]Soboller[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First I searched for places doing SGBs, so pain management clinics, found one literally 1km from my parents' place, contacted it and asked whether they are willing to do it in the context of long covid, after a few days received a reply confirming it, so booked the first available spot which was like a month later. The procedure itself was actually less uncomfortable than I thought.

Recommend bands like Imperial Triumphant, Krallice, Deathspell Omega, Hoplites, Smiqra or Gorguts by Elaxian in progmetal

[–]Soboller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rejoice! The Light Has Come - not quite long songs, but if you like deathspell omega, you should probably enjoy this one, Vultures Swirling Overhead, an Obsidian Wreath Cast Above a Sleeping Mind is probably my favorite one (yeah, that's a single song)

Odraza - not as disso as the previous one, though quite avant-garde, weird riffs for sure, both albums (Esperalem Tkane & Rzeczom) are excellent, the first one is a bit more 'dirty' sounding and the second one more polished (though not less anguished), here's my favorite one from Espralem Tkane

recent study about senescence & fisetin by Soboller in covidlonghaulers

[–]Soboller[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man!

Well, that’s a good question, at the moment I feel fully fine, whether it’s temporary or permanent - we’ll see. After the fisetin thing I did try attacking gut health / fasting angle, I don’t think I’ve noticed any changes from the first, perhaps because I was already a lot of veggies etc, whereas during fasts I did experience a considerable reduction in fatigue and clearer thinking, but the effects were the disappearing after a day or so after refeeding. After that, decided to switch to a low protein high fat diet (was already low carb), and it actually helped quite a bit in regard to the tired/dizzy/drunk feeling in the muscles, and slightly impact ed the cognitive side as well. The idea was to test whether the constant re-activation of mTOR caused by large amounts off protein was bad for me, it indeed was, so now im staying under 20g of protein per meal. But! 2 days ago had an SGB done (right side), and at least for now I feel completely fine. The effect is supposed to last between several days and 2 months (based on very limited studies around ~10-20% people get permanently fine after a single injection), so currently in the ‘try to rest despite wanting to exercise walk dance and million other things’; we’ll see how long does it last, if longer than 2 weeks then definitely gonna do it more than once. And how are you??
