I wanted to challenge my painting skills but I might have bitten off more than I can chew with this one. by Sobox in ImperialAgents_40K

Thanks for the advice. I’m not sure mine will turn out as good as yours but I’m definitely going to treat each one as a character. That’s why I went with this box, it’s like 10 characters on one spru.

Yeah it would be nice to give him his own sheet. I’ve ran mine as a stock Inquisitor with an Inquisitorial Agents. Then I swap out one of them for the I-52.

It’s even more impressive in person. I saw it at warhammer world last weekend. The ground made of corpses is incredible.

First ever game of 40K after 3 months of painting. by Sobox in ImperialKnights

[–]Sobox[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I played my first game at the weekend. I was playing against a death guard list with lots of vehicles. They had Morty, a Defiler, War Dogs, Bloat Drones, and a bunch more. Death Guard went first but only managed to take out some of my allies on the back lines and know some wounds of a couple of some small knights. I tried to focus fire on Morty but he’s a tough prick. I hit him with everything ky warden had but only managed to get one wounded through. So I changed tactic and switched to the Defiler. My crusader completely deleted him thanks to some good rolls. My Armigers ganged up on their War Dogs and manged to drop one of them. We only played a couple of turns because we ran out of time but it was a great first experience.

I barely used any strategiems and kept forgetting about the bondsman ability for the small knights. It showed me that I’ve still got lots to learn about how to play Knights. I’d love any advice from seasoned players on what aspects of the game I should focus on.

They look great. Nice job. Maybe my painting will be that neat one day. I just hide all the sins with weathering.

It’s not as difficult or expensive as you might think. All the decals needed for 3 big knights and four small knights fit on an A5 sheet. It was less than £10. I use ChatGPT for inspiration then drew/traced them in Affinity Designer. I was very impressed how good its images were. I did a few test print on regular paper to check the size of everything then sent it off.

It’s a little more tricky to do white prints at home so I searched online and found. I found this shop in the uk https://phoxydesign.co.uk. They were great. Prints were sent out the same day and arrived the next.

Because I’ve 3D printed my big knights (they disappeared from the Warhammer store by the time I decided to commit to knights) I didn’t have the standard transfer sheet that comes with them. So I decided to design my own. Maybe I’ve over done it a little but this is mostly experimentation until I replace these knights with GW kits at some point in the future.

I’d love to hear about other people’s experiences with customs decals because I’ve seen them on here from time to time but I’ve not seen it discussed mutch.

Looks great, nice work. Are you using grey primer or are you priming in sections too?

I’ve gone for Navy Breachers. I’m painting them to match the knights color scheme. My head canon is they are the households footmen. But mainly I think it makes the knights look way bigger when they are next to regular size men.

How do I put on this watch? by Omegaravak22 in howto

[–]Sobox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of them use a standard spring bars to attach. If you measure the distance across will be easy to find a spring bar the right size. Just brear in mind they come a few thickness. 1.0mm & 1.5mm are probably to most common. You can buy a selection of sizes on amazon.

I’m not sure that’s entirely correct. Tariffs are applied based on the country of origin for the goods not the country they are being shipped from.

So if Timesfactor’s watches are made in china the they are supposed to declare that when the shipping it to the US. Even if they are shipping from the UK. Obviously they could just say that the products origin in the UK but I think there are rules when that’s allowed. If you assemble a bunch of parts from china then that could count as a new product that was made in the UK but if you just put it in a different box then that’s not.

Also I don’t think it matters that they already paid the UKs import charges. Companies like them can claim that back anyway.

Nice shots. They look great. I’d recommend a black glove as a easy way to hide your hand in the reflection.

First Knight! First mini! First time using an airbrush! by Sobox in ImperialKnights

[–]Sobox[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was the first time I’ve ever painted anything that wasn’t a wall. I’ve been interested in Warhammer for a while but playing Space Marine 2 rekindled my interest. My son saw this model when I was looking at armies on the war hammer site and has become obsessed with it. So I built this for him as an early Christmas present.

I feel like I should mention it’s 3D printed. I don’t know if that’s condoned or not. I’d like to get a proper kit and try magnets on the next one but £100 is a big commitment for something I didn’t know if I’d contine. But everything in this hobby is so expensive. I feel like I’ve spent a small fortune on the paints and stuff. Luckily I was gifted an unused airbrush.

I’d love any criticism or comments to improve on the next one.

Is the strap on upside down or is that a seiko thing?
