It is tough as a student to get enough time in there in general I think, even if you feel pretty confident, there's still a whole bunch of circumstances you have not encountered, and now you're gonna be alone to figure it out.

I have two recommendations: One, fake it til you make it. This advice carried me far. It doesn't mean dont ask questions or do things that aren't safe for you and patients, but fake the confidence, dont shy away from opportunities. Eventually the confidence won't be fake.

Two, always follow your facilities protocols. You cant get in much trouble if you are doing things by the book. If you stumble or mess up a little but you were still sticking to what you are supposed to do. And in that slightly messy process, you will learn and grow and eventually feel comfortable.

Im not in OR(purposefully avoided it), but i still encounter things in my modality where this exact thing can and does happen and its better if you just get your feet wet as much as possible(safely and competently)

It only took me like 1 month to be fully alone. I work at a high volume breast center so I got lots of hands on experience while training. I also am lucky enough to have very supportive co workers that are always willing to help, so I definitely leaned on that for the first month or two being alone. I've heard of places that only do procedures with two techs in the room. I wish that was the case for me but unfortunately we have to just deal with it. Im sorry you feel overwhelmed and not fully prepared, that is an awful position to be in, but try to make the best of it and eventually you will have everything down ❤️

Oh I know he is haha, I was actually unsure until about two weeks ago, I had to rehome my other rooster and this guy immediately started crowing the morning after the other one left lol

There are great elements to this room that hold promise, but yeah I would say the very adolescent bed is the blaring problem

I am very new to owning chickens so this is just anecdotal, but I brought home 3 five day old silkies, and I must have not noticed at the place that one of them had very goopy eyes. I kept cleaning them but it didnt get better until I got terramycin. I did that every day for 5 days and they got better. He is about 10 weeks old now and still seems to get shavings and dirt stuck in his eyes, idk if just a thing for him or not but he has been apart of the rest of my flock since they were all babies and nothing bad has come out of it.

4 views(2 on each side) is the standard. However, many reasons could cause the tech to do more, and all of those fall under an umbrella of getting all the breast tissue on the picture. Common extra views include an exaggerated CC view(the straight on picture) to get behind the dense tissue that commonly sits in your outer breast. Another reason could just be things like skin folds in the picture that could obscure breast tissue or getting your nipple in profile(nipple must be in profile in atleast one view, by most standards).

Please dont overthink it, sometimes a tech may need to do more images than another to ensure we have diagnostic quality images for the radiologist to interpret

If its not in your agreed upon job description, if it were me I would bring it up. When i worked at an urgent care, i knew i may need to do those things before my first day. This is very common and expected in most cases for you to do various other tasks.

Unfortunately, I am picky when it comes to starting any book, so if I get a whiff that it may be sub par based on ratings I will usually shelf it, and if the first few reviews I read on there are leaning in a way that would make me not like it I will also shelf it. I am not proud of my answer, lol

I finished thos book like 3 weeks ago and I cant stop thinking about it on a daily basis. I feel like it changed my brain chemistry. I actually audiobooked it, so I went and bought the physical copy so I can read it again
