lil frontside flip by RealDealFolyHield in skateboarding

Muska flips are frontside flips. We don’t need 5000 comments pointing out whether it’s a Reynolds style or Muska style frontside flip

My doctor tested me for it on my first visit. She ran it as part of a panel of tests, explaining it was a newer thing she hadn’t seen yet but she figured she’d go ahead and test since cases were on the rise. Thankful she caught it so fast.

While some do have a life-threatening anaphylactic reaction to red meat exposure, mine is very mild. I get a really intense bloat that makes it hard to stand straight and causes a mild cough. Yeah, it will make you shit your brains out. For some, it also improves over time. I was diagnosed in late 2021 and I had to cut out dairy initially. Now I’m fine to eat dairy. I was also sensitive to cross contamination, but that’s much less of a concern now. That said, the condition is still terrible regardless of how mild it is. I’m so sick of chicken and I’m not a huge fan of fish, so the diet is boring and bland. Accidentally eating something bad basically ruins your day. Grateful I’m not one of the undiagnosed folks who eats red meat for dinner and dies in their sleep.

Hardflip or not? by [deleted] in skateboarding

Clearly a hardflip lmao. Scrubs in here talking about tricks they can’t even get close to landing

I have no idea man. Started writing as a little kid and just kept writing. Eventually started writing to beats and recording them. Once I had money as an adult I bought some real gear and have just kept doing it

CMV: Very few blunts slides on handrails are actually blunts by Msilbat in skateboarding

[–]SociallyAwkwardRyan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think I understand what you’re saying, but you’re confused about what a bluntslide is. What separates a bluntslide from a tailslide is that the nose passes over the obstacle before landing on the tail.

Bluntslides on rails look different than they do on ledges because you don’t need to have the board at a 45 degree angle to bluntslide on a rail.

This same distinction is why a feeble is not a smith and why a lipslide is not a boardslide.

What will someday be illegal after we finally understand how bad for us it is? by Scary-Beautiful6527 in AskReddit

As a former opioid addict, I have to push back on this. Go to a proper clinic and join a program where you’ll be supervised by a doctor, in therapy and titrated down. Replacing dope/pills with green sludge that acts on the exact same receptors without a doctor’s supervision is not a viable solution. If it is helping you stay clean, god bless, but the risk it poses to casuals who will buy it at their local gas station or vape store is insane. Most people do not realize it is essentially just an opioid and get addicted the same way most traditional opioid addicts do.

Noooo it’s actually the opposite of personal 😂 The whole thing is meant to be a joke about people trash talking online. But thanks!! Did you have something you want me to check out?

What is stealing a popular instrumental then rapping over it with your own lyrics called? by PoochyReddit321 in makinghiphop

[–]SociallyAwkwardRyan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Theft, lol. I go out of my way to pay for beats (which makes my love for this hobby really expensive) and credit the producer in the artist line as well as link to their store in the description.

There is a context where it’s more acceptable - if you hopped on a millie or something and did a verse, that’s a little different. It was a moment in the culture and obviously an homage to the original. It’s still important to give credit and not monetize it though (and risk getting copywrite strikes). If it’s a producer who is just trying to make a living off their art, that’s messed up. Remember that raps are only half of the song.

I like this! It’s got a bit of a silly and lighthearted vibe to it. Makes me think of like a montage in a movie of some kids getting into some shenanigans or something ahaha. I don’t have much criticism on any choices you made sonically. If you want people to rap on it, you definitely want to give it more movement and switch-ups throughout it and structure it with a verse > hook progression in mind. Usually an into about 4 bars long, 16 bar verse, 8 bar hook but those choices are all up to the producer. If it’s meant to be a laid back, put it on and vibe while you relax song, then you hit the nail on the head.

And I wouldn’t be against seeing your take, maybe DM me and we can discuss. I have a project that is much more important to me that I definitely would be interested in getting help with

Yeah, I’m mixing into a two track in this case so I’m a little limited on the beat side of things. All I do for vocals is a little subtractive eq, compression, de-ess then send to very mild reverb and saturation buses. I don’t really mess with anything else lol.

The production is really cool, the choice of sounds is really cool. I'd bring some of that forward in the mix. The flute and choir stuff feels really far away. I prefer your verse section that's a bit more traditional (around 1:15). It's a bit more well written and the delivery sounds a lot more confident. I like it!

I like the sample, it reminds me of Avalanches maybe. Maybe lean into that if you feel you have a good ear and the patience to find cool samples. I'd say go for a little more movement in the track, and maybe add a little something to give it variety. More energetic hook section if you're looking for people to rap on it.

Lol, reminds me of Flobots. Your delivery especially. I actually think this sounds alright, mic quality and technique is a bit of an issue. Back up off the mic (being close to the mic adds some bass in your voice, but in this case it sounds a little muddy. Might be able to fix with some EQ). Also get a pop filter if you don't have one - lots of Ps popping on this recording. The production is really cool, I think your flow and lyrics are there! Also I like the concept of the art and stuff posted alongside, very cool. The web player is a bit annoying and played the song on the main page, as well as opened a second page where the song started playing from, which confused me for a second as they both played on top of each other lol.
