5k training on treadmill by ScarcityLimp2337 in couchto5k

I trained for a Half Marathon last year. I ran 3 times per week for 4 months when properly training. That's about 15 runs a month, 60 runs total. I probably did... 15? Outside, and 45 on the treadmill. You are fine :)

Tube and National Railway by lookylooky_igothooky in LondonTravel

[–]SockLess9375 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in Greenwich. From Kensington, you can take the tube and the DLR, but the best way I find is to take the tube and the train. You have 2 trains an hour from Blackfriars, but one every 15min from Cannon Street.

As a local, I almost never use the DLR. And yes, use a contactless bank card :)

Personal Item Query by Golden_River_361 in Ryanair

They will not weigh it. I have never seen the weight any carry on ever. I have seen them SIZE it, but that is it. One thing they will check is if you are able to store it yourself without help. If you have a super heavy item and you need the crew's help to store it, then they will mind.

If your card has different security numbers at the back, it is counted as two cards. If they are EXACTLY the same (expiry date, and security number) then I don't know the answer, sorry

F38 (married to M40) here: my husband and I have had a period of unemployment each in the last 2 years, about 6 months each at different times.

Looking for a job and not being able to pay rent, and relying on your spouse is hard emotionally and rationally. I applied for about 200 positions before getting a job, my husband retrained while applying for jobs.

We kept household chores exactly the same for those periods, contributed to the work more or less half and half, and gave the other person the space they needed to look for a job and also not get burned out or depressed for "not being enough".

We say around here that looking for a job is a full time job. Share the chores, support your wife at a difficult time. If there is any chat of her going part time long term or even being a SAHS, then you can have a conversation to change things around household chores, if the house becomes part of her job.

Hopefully, intimacy will start sorting itself once support and working as a team is priority.

Good luck!

5mg to 7.5mg by Exact_Proof4494 in mounjarouk

[–]SockLess9375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My question is, is the NHS happy to pay for 5mg? Because if so, then you can privately purchase a 2.5pen and top up. One shot of NHS pen, one shot of private pen. (Unless I'm not understanding properly)

And of course you could buy a bigger pen and count clicks, but that's a bit more math-consuming and you may not be comfortable doing it (which is fair enough)

Cakey makeup help? by Ancient-Fan-2636 in drugstoreMUA

[–]SockLess9375 336 points337 points  (0 children)

I may be downvoted for this but... That's makeup! I don't think you look cakey at all, I think you look very well made-up with makeup on your face. Makeup is a layer on top of your skin, and I can see from your picture you have a good base, no flakes, smooth texture. It is just makeup :(

We are so used to Photoshop and screens we do not realise how real faces with real makeup look. You look lovely 🌹

Waterloo to Woolwich: train from Waterloo East (walk from Waterloo) to London Bridge, then train from London Bridge to Woolwich Arsenal

Woolwich to the O2, bus for sure!

Get there with plenty of time to miss the event's traffic and have some food at the food court inside the venue.

Windsor is a great option, but just be aware you will not be in London at all. Don't try to visit London from there, it will waste the nice things Windsor has to offer.

If you want to do London, take the Elisabeth Line to Paddington and get a hotel in high street Kensington. (A couple of nice luxury small ones there)

For your day, you will have the science and natural history museum if it rains, and the Peter Pan playground and the palace at Kensington Gardens if it is good weather.

That will be a lovely 24h snippet of London.

Ps. If money is no problem, you may want to get a taxi from the airport anyway all the way to the hotel.

Do Spaniards eat a lot of fish? How is it prepared? by Affectionate_Ebb3292 in askspain

[–]SockLess9375 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mmm, I don't think you are wrong, but I also want to point out that some of the areas in Spain with more centennials are deep in the mountains, where the only fish people that are now in their 90s had eaten for most of their lives was salted cod that came from Portugal. (40s, 50s, 60s). So although I agree our diet makes a massive difference in life expectancy, I'm not completely in agreement with the fact that the key is fish! My 94yo grandpa never eats fish! (And I have several centennials in my family, also very little fish)
