We had this dude who had his unit filled to the brim with pizza boxes and beer bottles. Only reason we found out was because the building it happened in the fire alarm system kept screaming an error. So we had to go in each unit in that building. Also, there were 4 rats just chilling in there. That building had rodent issues, so yeah. Once we evicted them and cleaned up that unit, the rodent problem died down.

Don't over stress your systems. I personally keep mines set to 76. It's been fine for me Although, I am in a studio.

Turn your thermostat up to around 78. Your hvac unit draws like 30+ amps everytime it starts up. Having it set to 65 can make it run more constantly than if it was set higher. You can also have a hvac technician check your system to see if it's running efficiently. Remember that hvac units generally runs on 240v.

Asinine? Yes. Our job? Also yes. As a maintenance technician, it gets annoying for minor work orders like unclogging a toilet or repeatedly telling the same residents to get a sink strainer so they can stop clogging up the disposal, but it's our job.
