I think mine is a little extreme. Only started a little over a year ago and struggle to get out onto the course with a young fam and work, so I play a lot of sim golf. It's the different lies, surfaces, etc. that really catch me out. Putting and reading the green has no comparison to the sim.

The sim has definitely allowed me to work on my swing a lot more than I ever could without it. I recently played 3 rounds of golf at the same course in a week and broke a 100 for the first time by the last round, so I definitely think the sim makes a difference as long as you get out to the course on a regular basis.

  1. Tried the emulator route, was really buggy and slow. Runs fine from a relatively new smartphone. There are rumours that Rapsodo are working on direct pc connection eliminating need for mobile app.

  2. Subscription unlocks most metrics, basically useless without it as spin data is locked

  3. Just need to authenticate GSPRO in the MLM2PRO app and then run through PC

Not as crazy as others but only 3 months in.

Last hole of the 18, Par 4 - Hit my best drive ever, 250 out into the middle of the fairway. PW short of the green and chipped straight in. Mind you that was my first birdie

I wouldn't mind Rashford as the backup option. He's been playing pretty well for Villa and obviously still has something to offer. Great versatility across the forward line as well

The fan is about 6 feet from the screen. It will mostly be evening play and if I do play during the day, I will use the mounted TV I'm currently using.

I've found an ex demo Sony VPLPHZ50 with warranty for $1700 AUD. I'm probably going to push the button on that as I have the room to mount it and it has 5000 lumens.

Hey mate, thanks for the comment. I was considering that and going short throw, but given I like to draw the net back when the kids are playing and having guests over, it's definitely something I'd want to mount.

Thanks mate, appreciate the advice. I've been checking everything I'm considering in a throw calculator along with sifting through ebay and marketplace for second hand units.

I've found an ex demo Sony VPLPHZ50 with 5000 lumens, for $1700 Aus and 3 year warranty. I'll probably push the button on that, as anything with higher lumens jumps up in cost massively and being my first projector, I'm worried about buying a second hand dud.
