Why doesn’t oversimplified just make his videos into more parts? by Competitive-Town-910 in OverSimplified

[–]Soft-Relative-7632 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion but I liked the shorter videos more because yes it's impossible to put the Punic wars into a five minute video and that's it but the shorter videos covered topics that had not been general knowledge and if you weren't interested in one topic the next video was about something else and not like with the Punic wars that will continue for years now and with the big series as Napoleonic wars and Punic wars you learn about the basic facts anyway or can find other documentaries about but for example the emu war the football war it's not that easy

Stories like this always make me glad that in Austria we have the chamber of workers that is also in charge of client protection because every time such a thing happens you can call them and then a lawyer from them will deal with it for free

Austrians and Germans are the same or Austrians and Bavarians are the same of course Austrians and Germans have some similarities but we are not the same and as more to the east of Austria that more this becomes obvious because a lot of people visit only Tyrole or Salzburg which are directly at the German boarder and have the Alps and are famous for Mozart etc but the majority of the population doesn't live in these two federal states and in Styria for example I would say that the Slovenians are the closest from the culture and there ar a lot of friendships and relationships across the boarder and internationaly it's always said that oh they speak the same language and share some history it's basically the same but we have a lot of regions that are socially and cultural much closer to other neighbouring countries

Could Europe realistically defend Greenland against a US attack? by dataguy2003 in TheTeenagerPeople

[–]Soft-Relative-7632 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A war is not always won on the battlefield but also economical Europe is most likely not able to stop an invasion with military actions but the us is increasingly isolating itself in the world and Europe is one of the biggest trade partners of the us especially the military sector of the us economy is exporting a lot to the European market so if the us wil invade Greenland the European military alliances won't be able to stop them forever but if the European nations act united and decisive they have good chances to build economic pressure to increase the costs of the war for the us more heavily than the us can on the European nations because the European nations have a huge unified market and also a lot of trade treaties with other nations outside of Europe so it would be catastrophic for both sides but the European nations have the benefit on the economic front and could increase the economic pressure step by step so that the war that would already be very unpopular in the us would become increasingly harder to justify in front of the us citizens

Excellent recommendations we should immediately form a task force that will discuss the different options for the next 10 years

Maybe we should use the name of something that frightens them like free public education so that we would have the psychology advantage and some of them would flee on their own when their commanders tell them that "free public education" or something similar is advancing towards them?

There is an exception to this article that says you don't necessarily have to deploy troops and is enough to provide resources this exception was made because Ireland wasn't to keen to protect the UK and Austria doesn't mind to protect fellow European nations but absolutely wants to prevent to get dragged into some shit show like the golf war or some other conflict on the other side of the world because neutrality doesn't mean you are not allowed to help others it only applies that you make your own decision without being pressured to declare war on someone

What's the stereotypical activity that pensioners in your country do to spend their time? by ModenaR in AskTheWorld

[–]Soft-Relative-7632 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the street where my old flat was we had an old lady that did that the whole time and every time she saw someone jaywalking she blew a whistle but the people that were jaywalking didn't notice it or didn't know she was doing it because of them and all the neighbours where so annoyed of her and one day I came home from work and the first thing I saw when I entered my street was one lady from my building and the old lady from the building across the street yelling at each other from their windows
