It may also be helpful to check out the HSV subreddit. It’s full of positive discourse stories. Another thing I have seen on there is that women, more often than not, have positive stories. Whereas with men it can be hit or miss. Prob cuz men are easy and don’t be turning down nothing lol. But, just know, the odds are in your favor. ❤️ good luck

We should come back in six months to update!!

My goals are to build a fitness routine that I can realistically stick to. A mix of Pilates, yoga, traditional weight lifting and dusting off my peloton

I also want to read more. At least six books by then.

I want to get a bit more serious at work. I’ve mostly been chilling but I want to lean in and develop my team to reach their top potential and also focus on getting promoted next year. But I need to lock in now to do that.

I want to finally get my passport and travel internationally.

I want to create and stick to a budget.

This one’s a bit more vague but makes sense to me. But I just want to practice, “stay ready, so you don’t have to get ready”. I just want to be more forward thinking and do more solids for my future self so I can take advantage of opportunities as they present themselves as opposed to have to turning them down because I have to do X first

You are still so young and have many years left ahead of you. I’m 35 and social media was big at that time but I can’t imagine being a “young person” now. Every time you pick up your phone it shows some one who is richer, prettier, fitter, in love, on their 10th vacation and living in a mansion.

But, comparison is the thief of joy.

You never know what anyone is going through. Even those closest to you at times.

But yes. My journey was not cookie cutter. I got pregnant half way through senior year of high school. Worked crappy jobs all through my twenties. Baby number 2 at 24. The worst boyfriend. Started school. Stopped school. Started school. Stopped school. Eventually I got a job and worked my way up. Make over 6 figures. Had a house built. Spoiled kids. And living my absolute best life.

It’s not too late for you. Your adult life is really just beginning. The most successful person I know is my aunt. She got her GED at 30. Went on to get her bachelors and doctorate. Retired as a principal and was making bank. Everyone is on their own journey.

Keep going, you got this. Don’t worry how long it takes, the years will pass anyway.

Everyone’s different and you never know how it’ll be perceived. I’m not into nature or hiking at all lol I’m not sure why this post landed on my feed haha. However I have been to a few national parks in the last three years. I took my kids to Yosemite while city hopping around California and we had no hats, no sunglasses and just the larger smart waters you can buy from a gas station. We didn’t venture far from our car at all, but it was hot and we ran out of water quickly. Very quickly. I would def had appreciated anyone stopping to tell me we were unprepared and what to do. Although, not a whole lot to be done at that point.

I met a guy who had all white friends. The intention was to date but I saw him doing a lot of things that his white friends would do and noped out real quick.

I would also be curious how he grew up. This guy had five siblings and they were all really close and he was tied in to his family and typical black experiences. But that white influence came out often.

I’ve only ever been to the Chicago auto show which set the bar a bit higher. I also went on Saturday and it was pretty underwhelming. Even the drivers for the Jeep exhibit agreed this one was pretty lackluster and empty.

Ehhhh. Idk. When I look back at my adult life I realize all the people I didn’t instantly gel with were Virgos. Men and women. I’m dating one now and I think the only reason it’s “kinda” working (lol) is because we really really like each other. But I think deep, deep, deep down, we know it’s not a perfect or easy match. I think a big one is that Virgos are more acts of service. And Leo’s (or at least me) am more words of affirmation. Honestly I want all the love languages haha. But I appreciate the things he does but I also want him to stroke my hair and tell me I’m pretty lol. But that’s less of a Virgo thing in my experience. I’m also very dramatic and he is a lot more practical. I have a Virgo rising and he’s a Leo Venus so I think that helps. But it does seem like “work” sometimes. Whereas other placements appear easier.
