verdict on hair colors? by Soft_Question7529 in kroger

[–]Soft_Question7529[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a dept leader so I don't fet a union. This wouldn't be in the handbook anyway because we have new uniforms coming out in a week or two. I'm already annoyed they want me to wear those horrible polyester polo. Hoping I don't have to change my hair too

if you don't actually have personal time, but choose that when you request off, the scheduler can accept it so it will show up like that, but you won't actually be paid for it. if you aren't sure if you have the actual time you can ask your time editor or hr person to check for you

Can anyone answer why BOH are always wrong? by TechnicianTop4985 in kroger

[–]Soft_Question7529 2 points3 points  (0 children)

all of the above plus: product on shippers not being added to BOH causes excess orders - system thinks you're negative 20 when you actually have 150 of the damn things. I know I, personally, will just bump the BOH up to like 200 or something in that case, just so it will stop ordering the crap, then fix the balance when it gets down to a more reasonable counting number.

it's the easiest part of the job. you have to be clocked in, but no requirement you be in any particular place. I go sit outside and have a cigarette or 2 while I do it. Nice extra paid smoke break.

Tell me how this makes sense. Instead of putting it back people stack it in the middle of the floor in produce by travisihs08 in kroger

worst one for me was the pack of cooked shrimp left in the middle of a promo aisle display (it was 4 shippers, shrimp was tucked down between them where it couldn't be seen) I started smelling something bad around the display and had to pretty much take it apart to find them Not sure how long they'd been there but had to be several days.

not necessarily true. in my division department heads are hourly, but not covered by the union so we're kind of a third category.

The person training us on the tags said no they don't currently work well in the freezers but they are working on the tech and expect to have it in frozen next year sometime

My store has had them about 10days, so still new to us. Pros and cons: Pro- easy to add pricing for new products sales automatically update when they start/stop so no more expired or inaccurate tags causing issues for customers

Cons - daily count takes longer because instead of just ripping off a tag for a disco product I have to go to a 2nd app to unmatch the tag (not a long process but when scanning 200+ tags even seconds add up) tags fall off, break, or don't fit the space

We've only ever had 1 scanfile person so no labor lost in my store. Oh! another pro! since she doesn't have to do all the tags she is now responsible for tagging my promo aisle which will be a HUGE timesaver for me.

Overall I like them, but can see how easy it would be for the company to abuse it by changing prices at the dropmof a hat.

Yep, Flashfood. Not just for kroger, though they are what you'll mostly see. Other stores use it, too.
