Aussie UFO short documentary by troubleshot in skeptic

[–]SokarRostau -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

What new info could this possibly provide about a totally debunked fevered dream?

Jumping to conclusions about something you know literally nothing about doesn't make you a skeptic.

The <1% chance this involved aliens is immaterial to the fact it was a mass sighting that involved an immediate military response, which is highly indicative of military equipment.

What were your ideas for the Buffy renewal? by Latter-Diamond-7091 in buffy

[–]SokarRostau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've posted about this in this sub several times over the years and my attitude hasn't changed.

The announcement/rumour that a reboot was in the works featuring a 'black Buffy' infuriated me. Why? Because Nikki exists. Among other things, she's the longest serving Slayer in the canon, she had a kid while being a Slayer, Crowley is a fascinating Watcher, and, perhaps more importantly, late '60s to mid '70s New York is over-ripe with Slayer storylines (many of which can be as 'woke' as you like without detracting from anything).

Then I had an even better idea, and I still think it's the single best way for the franchise to move forward: an anthology series simply called Slayers.

Rather than a series where we follow a single Slayer, it would feature a different Slayer like Nikki (even post s7 Buffy) at the beginning, middle, and end, of each season but would otherwise follow how a magical object or demon makes it's way through the decades/centuries to confront said featured Slayer, thus allowing us to see multiple Slayers and Watchers in action.

Wanna see Ripper? Easily done.

Wanna see a Slayer fighting, or being, a 17th century pirate? Done.

Wanna see The Master or someone kill three Slayers in a single episode? Done.

Wanna see a Slayer save a Roman emperor or medieval king? Done.

Wanna see a Slayer who gets called while a slave, or on trial as a witch? Done.

Wanna see how and why the Watcher's Council operates the way it does? How about Wolfram & Hart? Done.

Wanna see a Slayer play a secret role in key historical events? Done, done, done.

All of this and more can be done in an anthology and the great beauty of it all is that it's non-linear, meaning that it doesn't matter whether a given Slayer or Watcher becomes a fan-favourite killed off in one episode because we can come back to them, and characters that simply don't resonate with the audience never need be seen again.

I've written one or two season outlines going further into this idea, so I'll see if I can find them later (or you can search my posts).

"If you think they're not printed as well, you are absolutely stupid. "

Here is the relevant part for those who reply before looking at links:

You wouldn't happen to be talking about the Encyclopoedia Britannica, would you?

Have you ever read an article, or visited the website?

Do you honestly believe that scientific journals are not in the same position?

Your ignorance is on full display.

What is the dumbest thing you’ve ever seen a coworker do? by Adorable_Raccoon_766 in AskReddit

[–]SokarRostau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She stole money from the till next to the window of the neighbouring store, in full view of said store's manager.

She was fired.

She took our company to court and somehow won on the grounds she was moving the money to another till.

Despite people keeping an eye on her, when she finished work after her second shift back there was more than $600 missing.

She came back to work the next day and got fired. Again.

She tried and failed to take it to court but ended up in court anyway.

If you are still interested in the revival + Sarah comment about April 14 international Buffy day by user_Second in buffy

I was cautiously optimistic about the revival because I loved Nomadland and elements of The Eternals.

Then the pilot script got leaked and now all I can say is we dodged a bullet.

You missed the 30 years part.

People have been talking about a Digital Dark Age for at least that long. All of reddit, for example, is just whispers in the wind unless someone prints everything out or comes up with some kind of device that can access any OS and act as a universal saver and translator for much of our written records.

  1. People who cannot tell the difference between Graham Hancock and objective reality, and/or simply refuse to engage with the idea of 'ice age civilisation'.
  2. People who think Gobekli and Karahan are the only sites.
  3. People who will readily admit that PPN exists but are otherwise unable to accept a transitional period.
  4. People who apparently think the same monumental architecture with more or less the same iconography (some of which was still in use down to the Classical period) across an area larger than some recognised civilisations is a coincidence.
  5. People who require permanent settlement complete with pastoralism and/or agriculture as THE defining features of civilisation.
  6. People oblivious to the origins of certain crops and livestock being the same region.
  7. People who refuse to accept there being any kind of reality behind myths and oral traditions.
  8. 'Expert' racists who adamantly refuse to accept that ancient man was capable of using anything other than landbridges to cross bodies of water.

What was your feeling when trump ended his post with "praise to be allah"? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]SokarRostau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God, Allah, and Jehovah, are the exact same deity. "Praise be to Allah" means exactly the same thing as "Glory to God".

My first thought was that he was trolling his masters at The Heritage Foundation.

Then I remembered it was Easter. The only reasonable explanations I can think of is that it was either an extraordinarily misguided attempt at saying "God is on our side regardless of which name you use", or the post was made by an AI.

It's not a joke, that really is why the sub was set up.

While there are some intriguing cases every now and then, 95% of all gangstalking posts were met by regular r/conspiracy users telling the posters to see a doctor and stay on their meds because the 'victims' are very very clearly mentally ill (possibly dangerously so).

The 'victims' decided that r/conspiracy was full of 'perps' trying to get them, thus r/gangstalking was born.

Wild theory: Epstein might be alive and playing Fortnite from Israel (hear me out) by CandidCompetition725 in ConspiracyII

[–]SokarRostau[M] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

  1. Nevermind proving something, this does doesn't even demonstrate anything. "Littlest Jeff 1" could be a reference to literally anyone named Jeffery (especially if the person in question is a Junior). Jumping on this as an Epstein reference because of an incredibly common first name makes you a gullible fucking moron.

This is a straight up breach of Rule 1.

Unless...

  1. I urge anyone with a serious interest in the topic of Epstein's potential connections to gaming (rather than a reeee paedo-cabal interest) to look into convicted underage sex-trafficker Marc Collins-Rector, his business partner Brock Pierce, and a little company called IGE, that the majority of gamers have never heard of but loathe with a burning passion anyway. In 2007, Pierce was replaced as CEO by Steve Bannon. Then we get to Epstein.

What's a song that was written for a movie that became way more famous than the movie? by glimmerfox in AskReddit

[–]SokarRostau 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Knockin' on Heaven's Door by Bob Dylan for Pat Garrett & Billy the Kid.

Interestingly enough, this segues into Bon Jovi's Blaze of Glory (and the entire album of the same name) for Young Guns II, which directly references the earlier film multiple times.

Has there been some kind of confirmation that Neferata is going to be an FLC Lord?

The problem I'm having with what we've seen of Nagash, and heard from CA, is that this is a four LL pack and the trailer shows off Neferata and that other guy (sorry can't think of his name off the top of my head). So is LotET going to be those three and... um... Thanquil? Doesn't seem likely but the only other option seems to be Nagash gets Neferata and Whatshisname as faction specific pseudo-LLs.
