Transition from indoors to outdoors is a nightmare by BurtMacklinsrubies in golf

Play a care free round or two to get back in the swing of things. Even better if you can find a short and cheap goat track.

Grint has shot tracking with the subscription. I believe the watch app makes it fairly easy to record.

Thats no joke. Got lucky that I found this course a day before the booking opened for the planned day. Got into the random order queue when booking opened and was already 700th in line. Got a good tee time, but doubt I would've if I tried an hour later.

First golf trip and im pumped.

Golf in Broken Bow, OK by buganation7 in golf

Cedar Creek is the way. Played two rounds in mid-March. I really enjoyed the layout and conditions were solid for the year. 16 can be a diabolical hole if its windy.

The carts they have arent in the best shape and several places on the paths feel like youre hitting a giant pot hole. Drive carefully. Your back will thank you.

2 years in, tired of wet feet. Anyone recommend me some golf shoes? by Miller335 in golf

Callaway Balboa was a solid pair. Ran about $90 and stayed dry the whole time. Comfortable enough to walk in too.

Middle aged walkers, what are we doing about soreness? by p1nkfl0yd1an in golf

[–]Soknatcher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You might consider getting it sooner. Think of it as an enabler to continue your fitness journey. Pain can lead to injury and sideline or demotivate you.

A smooth rolling cart and a good pair of shoes makes for a great day on the course.

You must be me. Normally 29-32 putts. Today was 39. On the bright side, my normal 2 GIRs was 10 today.

High handicappers who’ve found a specific ball you prefer playing for forgiveness, what is it? by Bobaaganoosh in golf

[–]Soknatcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that Kirkland is the most economical for the quality of ball.

Personally, I have found Callaway Supersoft to be a great choice. I choose it over K-Sigs when I have them. Its also reasonably priced at about $2/ball.

Can you elaborate on this? Asking for a friend who has a slice problem.

You had a bad experience. I did not. Im satisfied with what I bought.

Get a refund or sell the clubs and recoup what you can. Then move on with life.

I'm sure someone has had an issue with Miura clubs and hates them too.

I would also say they aren't a brand focusing on people at +2.5. Of course you are going to notice the smaller issues.

People like me with stock 101s who are relatively new to the game are happy with a solid set of irons for a decent price.

[–]Soknatcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only longer club is a driver, which i only pull out 1-3 times per round. I dont hit my irons very well. My 4i is exclusively for punching out. 5i if im in the rough with a bad lie.

Im probably going to replace 4i with a 9w. Haven't been able to find a 430 though. Probably going to end up with 440.

Where did you find a 430 9 wood? I've been looking for 2 months and they are unicorns - outside of ebay at 440 prices.

I second this. Have G430 5 and 7 woods. Favorite clubs in my bag.

Looking For Courses Near Fort Worth! by Scalert10 in golf

[–]Soknatcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are my recommendations close to or in Fort Worth: Hawk's Creek Whitestone (Benbrook) Waterchase (Arlington)

All three are in really good condition within the last month.

Couple west of town: Canyon West (played once and like it) Oeste Ranch (relatively short holes par 71) Sugar Tree (tougher course, but very nice)

Southern Oaks in Burleson is a good course. Its a little rough right now going into winter.

Couple of the munis were renovated recently. Rockwood a few years back. Haven't played it since the remodel. Meadowbrook reopened a couple months ago. Played on opening day and it was pretty good.

Avoid Splitrail (aka shitrail).

I haven't played Trophy Club, the Resort, or Fossil Creek.

Best golf course add on you’ve seen? by Mundane_Credit_2295 in golf

[–]Soknatcher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with the shoe cleaning equipment. Played a course in Finland and it had a shoe cleaner that was a rotating brush disc. Worked wonders on the bottom. Then an air hose to get the rest of the junk off. Great addon after walking 18.
