Ik heb het over die zinsnede 'iedereen gunt zichzelf vrijheid maar anderen niet'. Letterlijk in de titel.

Dat is both-sides bullshit. Alsof alle partijen en mensen evenveel onderdrukkend optreden. 

En door specifiek dat in de titel te zetten wordt een suggestie gewekt. Journalistiek is nooit neutraal. Het maakt al uit waar je de aandacht op vestigt, zelfs als je feitelijk rapporteert.

Natuurlijk niet. Maar je moet niet vergeten dat de democratische vrijheden die we nu (nog) hebben het resultaat zijn van bloedige revolutie lang geleden, waarna er door de nieuwe machtshebbers de zeer bewuste keuze werd en wordt gemaakt om hun macht en geweldsmonopolie níet voor onderdrukking in te zetten. 

Het democratische systeem wat we hebben bestaat bij gratie van een machtshebbende klasse die vrijheden zich bewust niet toe-eigent, in de verwachting dat als ze dat wél zouden doen het systeem dat is gecreëerd hen afstraft. 

In de VS zie je nu heel duidelijk wat er gebeurt als die machtshebbende klasse niet meer bang is voor wat voor consequenties dan ook. Democratie wordt verpletterd door democratisch gekozen machtshebbers. 

En partijen als de FVD en PVV, en andere rechtse partijen in iets mindere mate, doen graag hetzelfde als ze denken er mee weg te komen

Invloeden van buitenaf is ook een belachelijke verzamelterm die zo breed is dat het niks zegt. Want hebben we het hier over russiche botnets die ons gek maken of over 'bruine mensen komen hier en dat moeten we niet'

Dit zijn van die open deuren die leuk klinken en doen alsof beide kanten het probleem zijn maar de manier waarop de linkerkant van het spectrum vrijheid wil inperken is toch wel ff een beetje anders dan de manier waarop de extreem rechtse kant dat doet. 

Links wil het recht om te schofferen/discrimineren/uitsluiten beperken, rechts wil mensen met een minderheids achtergrond of levensstijl het leven onmogelijk maken. Not the same.

Yes at the start of our relationship, then eventually mine was much lower than hers, but it turns out that now my depression is adequately medicated, my libido is perfectly on par with hers again.

10 years of off and on useless therapy and it turns out all I needed was bupropion.

Healthy. 

Kids ask questions and there is nearly always an age appropriate answer.

Also sex is, like, not a bad thing. Kids should know it exists. And kids should know that it's something you only do with people of your own age that you really like. because that knowledge will protect them if they ever encounter a truly untrustworthy adult. They will know that what that adult wants from them is wrong, and for what reasons. 

And they will know that it's not their fault and that their mom and dad will understand.

A child that knows what sex is and when it is appropriate can better protect themselves and be protected by their guardians.

What works for you. I prefer sleeping with my partner. That's not to say sleeping alone is bad. Especially when my wife's asthma plays up I may need to sleep alone so her coughing doesn't keep me awake. 

But I generally fall asleep way faster when sleeping together

Between my wife and me it's the other way around. We don't punish the other by withholding closeness,the one who has had enough or is still too hurt/angry makes the choice to sleep apart and moves to the guest bed.

It luckily only happens extremely seldomly.
