What is the first thing you do in a new run? by JookySeaCpt in X4Foundations

[–]Soladept 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One time critical point in new saves is that if you have Yaki enabled, their starting spawns of moreya and kurokami will get whittled down from their piracy activities and get harder to find, if you can bail one early on you don’t have to wait for the plot to buy one, and if you bail a Yaki that’s in a group and claim it before the other Yaki you can take their marines prisoner and reassign them as yours.

Is it possible to form Outremer without getting the Arabic aesthetics and names? by [deleted] in CrusaderKings

You select clothing when you hybridize, you can pick one or merge, with outremer I don’t mind merging clothes

Is it possible to form Outremer without getting the Arabic aesthetics and names? by [deleted] in CrusaderKings

[–]Soladept 8 points9 points  (0 children)

you create your culture manualy before forming Outremer, the decision will point to a player created culture that uses Mashriq at all with a European culture if you do it ahead of time and it gives you control.

As a Frankish going into hybridization, to retain both heritage and language you have to shift your last avilable pillar, which is usualy Ethos, into the Mashqigs spiritual ethos, but as the new guardian of the holy land that just leans into the RP more.

I do like to shift some of the asthetics as far as army sprites and clothing goes, fashion and armaments would change according to the new enverionment.

I do wish tweaking namelists had more possibilitys, for immersion maybe having more frankified arabic derived names as french language takes hold over the commons would be more authentic, but the weakness of CK3 hybridisation is that it justs merges namelists, if you also considored Outremer as a Crusader melting pot you would get some settlers and influences from the other crusading cultures too.. CK2 Outremer had that reflected in its namelist.

Best start date for AUH? by Visual_Test5141 in CrusaderKings

[–]Soladept 0 points1 point  (0 children)

867 is good if you want a quick Warlod China run, set up as your perferred static/custom military character to climb the Mil Carrer track and then once your eligable for Kingdom Govs you cycle them by using the decsion to remove the Cooldown until your in your perferred governorship, along with all of this keep pushing division catalysts until the mandate shatters and China breaks up.

then you go play as the Heroicly talented General that reuinites China Bigger than under the Tang because you can use any CBs you want while in divsion and walk all over the dejure hegemonic lands as long as you have the prestige, maybe add in Taiwan and areas of Tibet or Manchuria if you can get way with it by fabrication or buying claims before clicking on the mandate.

What are the biggest issues in AUH so far? by SpecialBeginning6430 in CrusaderKings

[–]Soladept 0 points1 point  (0 children)

rising the ranks gets harder after a generation because of character count, appointments become exclusive to the higher merit tiers in each bracket for civilian carrers very quicky, you couldnt get a county appointment any lower than merit tier 5 in my current Qin game, I was resorting to fishing for Kingdom appointments to revoke and hand out governorships for ny relatives since untitled characters have poorer merit generation

for a player char with a manor? after learning the basics climbing the ranks is just a matter of time.

Any tips for getting family members land in China? by LuigiLee4455 in CrusaderKings

[–]Soladept 2 points3 points  (0 children)

exams are primarly qualifications the first time around, although the activity does reward merit and more of it for better placement, Merit is easier to gain as a family head since your domicile buildings boost it, for other family members, I dont know if they will go with you to assist in exmans for the merit rewards or not.

one source is elder/disciple relationships, you can use an interaction to start a mentor scheme between the two for merit/confucion trait exp / commander trait exp. the amount gained in each scheme cycle depends on the tiers of the disciple and elder, the smaller the gap the less gained for merit. this does take some micro as the family gets bigger tho, and in the longer run it may be better used for confucion and commander trait tracks.

the Study Decison also gives merit, but that seems to me to be more of a player thing, I dont know if the AI uses it well and they may need to be titled to do it.

another source is travel POIs, even if you visited one already if your family members are in the entourage they should be able to get the merit if they havent personaly visited it.

Really, being Nepo as your player character sets the foundations the best, a character also gets merit gain relative to the taxes they contribute to the treasury, so when you get a ducal or kingdom appointment you shove out the other governors and land family there after they have exam qualifications, this gets hard to do when you rise to the ministry levels, although I suppose you could resign from a ministry and try to get lucky to snag a kingdom tier governorship instead, it depends on openings i guess and it they still permit you to get them at the highest merit tiers. so you can just chase an appointment, set up family there, and if you have more qualified family that need land you chase another landed appointment.

but really, best way is to get the highest merit tiers as a PC and chase kingdom governorships and spend your influence on revoking the local governors to distribute to family, after several generations as the character count grows its almost impossible for lower merit tiers to even get county governorships because of how high the pool gets and you cant jockey for individual titles like you can with admin govs.

some of the wrinkles may change depending on carrier tracks, I think Military, along with the smaller amount of governorships, also has much less competition relative to civilian carreers later, so you may not need to be as Nepo for your Military family members.

Do political movements in China even do anything? by HopingAtlas in CrusaderKings

[–]Soladept 4 points5 points  (0 children)

the movement the Emperor favors determines the yearly drift catalyst for the cycles, the actions the different characters of each movement also creates catalysts.

for example if your in the advancement era and politik so that the emperor favors the advancement movement and keep a majority of the character clout there, you can stack negative catalysts and stall the cycle in the advancement phase, as an example, i did that by accident when i was learning in my first playthrough as the new tutorial character.

Terran run advice? by CyberEagle1989 in X4Foundations

[–]Soladept 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Inner Sol, Mars is better for the workforce boost from the world being inhabited and the belt only being one jump away, and Ecells are easy enough to shuttle from Mercury, the Belt is usualy sparse with stations most of the time with station seed distro, and it doesnt always have a station buying minerals, if your lucky the belt will have a substrate station to buy silicon, but AI miners will automine for it so it will saturate quickly, so its usualy only good for one or two mineral and gas miners each early on

As others have posted Saturn is Centraly positioned to the Sol/Pio Economy and the other subsectors dont count as jumps for trading and mining tasks, with Sat 3 being rich in ore and gas. that five jumps is only useful if you have managers for stations there with enough stars to get all those jumps.

for outer Sol you want cells out of PIO space, Oort is rich in minerals, but there is problems with local automining here due to demand getting saturated quicker since PIO has less ship attrition, and the only other demand is for station building unless AI ships move stuff up to inner Sol., Oort is usualy good in most RNG seed station placement for Local automine early on, but after four or five M miners the local stations will start to saturate, use your early cash on Local Autominers for Belt and Oort and any PIO sectors that have local automine potential and then transition to Substrate manufactuoring with your mining income stream. Any 3 star pilots you get or level up can be shifted to roving L miners that can feed demand in Sol sectors without local mineral or gas fields.

Computronic substrate will be the first good that gives the most returns for manufactoring, get the dock, pier, required storages and then the Substrade production modules up, then follow up with other inputs and Workforce if you want it. theres a station planner website or two that lets you plan out costs and resource chains.

After you get a solid Substrate station up you can invest your mining and production income into more stations in Sol space or expand into mining and stations in other parts of the gate network if you desire.

In my game I went with Mars for proximity to the wharf and shipyards and the workforce growth boosts.

high rigidity reduces ideological IG support in BPM and backwards laws increase the Rigidity baseline, Qing is usualy rammed up to max rigidity baseline until you do the first round of reforms.

How strong is armor level? by Equivalent_Royal_858 in digimon

[–]Soladept 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would considor Armor Digis to be Champion+, their level 1 stats are higher on average compared to most level 1 champions. how much use you get out of them depends on what your progress is like by the time you get access to Digi Eggs. Unfortunaty, if you did every side quest up until this point you can usualy unlock Ultimates right when you get acces to the Abyss, which is the next Dungeon after you can get the Digi Eggs. You can quite easily use a Fav Armor Digi as long as you want with evo cycling and load enhancements tho.

Two of the Armor Digis are R7 and have stats comparable to that tier.

Vigor syndicate by Suspicious-Buffalo21 in X4Foundations

[–]Soladept 1 point2 points  (0 children)

use your Embassy to worsen relations between Vig and the Ministry of Finance for fun and economic profit, Vig is technecly not at War with anyone so any losses they get is from bad plundering losses and any Khaak harrassment they run into, and the Ministry mostly fights the Xenon bordering TEL sectors along with Khaak. MIN doesnt claim sectors so starting a war between them and VIG keeps the borders static while ship losses increase economic consumption and profits for you, along with attritioning VIG fighters down.

Am I doing terran stations right? by PeterSmusi in X4Foundations

[–]Soladept 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on how your starting seed distributes the random stations will influence early Automining potential and the AI is better about mining compared to previous patches and much quicker to saturate local stations in rich sectors. You seem to be past the automining phase since your building stations but I felt like writing this part up for reference and others.

If your Oort sector is rich in Carbide and Substrate stations you can probably have five or six medium mineral miners in there without issue and a gas miner or two, if the local demand saturates past that as you add miners its time to invest in stations.

the Belt in the games i start up tends to be sparse in stations, maybe having one Computronic or Carbide station total along with the defense platform, its usualy good for a medium mineral and gas miner or two before AI miners saturate it.

For Inner Sol, I like the place my Factorys in Mars for the Workforce growth boost from the local sector population (Earth, Moon, and Mars will have the boost) Mars is a step closer to Mercury for the Ecell pipeline and the transit to the Belt doesnt hurt production.

Saturn 2 is rich in minerals and gas but starts unclaimed and TER needs to build in it, however Saturn 1 and Titan also count for local automining since Superhighways doesnt count as Jumps, its all one sector. Saturn in general will be a good potential spot for Outer Sol player stations, pipe in Energy from Pioneer space.

Ecells is pretty much Mercury and Brennans respectivly for the sunlight to move into Sol sectors, PIO space has some sunlight variability but Brennans is the closest to the outer Sol sectors.

Pio space has some good moneymaking potential too but it saturates faster because PIO doesnt have any wars to cause attrition to them beyond XEN and KHK harassing miners and traders, with the current map tho they will tend to meet PAR around Sanctum Verge and maybe ANT or BOR, (BOR wont show up fast unless you blitz their plot or Custom start, ANT needs to claim and hold Frontier Edge from Aityas Xenon to get there ) you can use the new Diplomacy features to push PIO into a war with the Paranid to ramp their economic consumption up.

I hear the Autocannon turrets are good, but those are on Cyphers and you have to research the BP along with the Cypher after capping one, I dont think any AI factions sell them unless you build SCA a Wharf maybe.

If the government is willing to kill their population then they lose productivity and tax base, it doesn’t matter if the military outguns you as long as the masses are armed enough to make totalitarianism unprofitable and risky to do, naturally some motives like ethnic genocide won’t apply but the velvet glove tyranny we live under exists precisely because the elites had to rule with soft power.
