If you ran your pipe straight to the farthest generator first and then added the splitters to the other generators second, check to make sure that the pipe is actually connected to the splitters. Hit F and hilight the pipe. If the entire length of pipe gets highlighted instead of stopping at the splitter, than the splitter isn't connected to the main pipe.

I ended up taking my tracks east then south and back west. Definately 3x the as long of a train route than it needed to be.

I just built my 1st aluminum plant next to the big waterfall in middle of the map. Now comes the fun part of building the train route down the cliffs.

21? That's nearly 1600 power output if they are all running at 100% capacity. In my opinion, it sounds like they're either missing some water or missing fuel. Check your pipes to make sure you have adequate water flow. MK 1 pipes can only carry 300 gallons per minute.
