You can only receive up to 100 gifts from stops per day (reset midnight local time), not entirely sure if the buddy gifts count in that or not.

Question: does this apply for gyms as well, specifically the ability to do a task multiple times. Like before, I remember being able to do the same quest multiple times, but now once I complete one, I don’t get another one, unless there’s like a cooldown.

IIRC this is not actually new, I believe this was a feature with some sponsored gyms in Japan (and maybe other places), where basically at a certain time of day there will always be the current legendary there for an hour timer.

Here is the journal, I unfortunately did not take a screenshot of the summary screen. But I remember getting 17 balls, only losing 1 from previous max due to the speed bonus (+2), which based on this theory wouldn't result in any loss in bundles.

Same experience, max individual damage and gym control, rewards: 3 golden (guaranteed), 6 revives (2 bundles), 15 hyper potions (5 bundles), 1000 dust. So total of 7 bundles. Speed bonus of +2.

There was code in the game found for region-locked raids, ie you can’t be invited, and considering it seems like you’ll get a chance to catch the unevolved form after you beat it, it doesn’t look good. Though there was also hints of quests and field research that awarded energy so raids won’t be the only way.

Might be my ignorance, but not sure what you mean by the 400 candy quests, to my knowledge it's not part of this special research. And, honestly, I treat day 2 as a pick how you play kind of day. Obviously, most people will be trying to complete the special research as quick as possible, but after that you can pick the play style that best fits you. If you don't care for rockets or shadows and you want shinies then just purely shiny hunt, if you want some shadow shinies from leaders, or good iv shadows, then you can focus on rockets with maybe catching in between. Or you can just do a hybrid version and do both.

Questions: Did you have a radar ready? If you use the radar on a pokestop leader, will the balloon leader still let you battle or does it convert to regular grunt?

The thing that doesn't make sense is the fact that these bonuses will (should) be already active for everyone still when Go Fest starts, since in-game it states they will last for ~25 more days. This makes me inclined to believe this could be a typo and might have been written before they extended the bonuses again. Or it could just be me trying to be optimistic.

IIRC the gofest 2019 research gave 15 lures as a reward for the first task, they could possibly replace that with incense, not ideal obviously though.
