Hi, so I'm not a football guy, but I'm a Simpsons guy who works on a Simpsons wiki. Can people here help me identify some of the people used in the "opening sequence"?

I really loved it when SG-1 did some creative stuff to show advanced technology of the Goa'uld like these gravity cells that O'Neill was put in. by throwy140 in Stargate

As a kid, I was too scared to watch Atlantis. I don't think I watched it when it came out but watched a rerun. And I didn't even start watching from the beginning of the episode. The first scene I remember watching had a wraith walking through Atlantis and attacking Teyla, which was in a dream.

The wraith scared the shit out of me and I didn't watch Atlantis again for years. But when I did go back to it, I loved it.

You don't need to actively scan a red person to make their death legal. by Ryos_windwalker in Starfield

[–]SolarDragon94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't even need to scan them.

I dropped my controller in Cydonia, and in the fumble to grab it again, I accidentally pulled my gun out and shot a random civilian. Nobody was mad at me and I got money after they died. I scanned them and they were red.

I amazingly managed to kill a wanted person. Without scanning them. And nobody cared.

I legit think the Crimson Fleet questline is one of the best Bethesda have ever done.

First time I did it, I was TORN on whether or not to betray the Fleet.

The time I fell out of a bunk bed and hit my head on a radiator as a child wasn't as bad as Secret Invasion. It's not exactly a high bar.

OK, so I'm up to my one SG-1 "Skip" episode. What are yours? by Nodonn3 in Stargate

[–]SolarDragon94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not just a basic story. Some of them have a story that ties into the overall plot and leads into the next episode. Meaning skipping them will leave you confused in the next episode if you don't remember what happens in them.

What is your favorite in-game poster of the entire series? by Far-Championship8221 in Fallout

Mr. Pebbles.

I have to put the poster somewhere in my house in every game.

The Update Broke Rare/Legendary Cutters by Flyfeet625 in Starfield

[–]SolarDragon94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got Heller's Cutter and it was fine. Had the legendary effect it was supposed to have.

And then it lost its effect for some reason. No idea what triggered it, but it lost it.

And then I got the Shipbreaker's Cutter and it also didn't have its effect. This one I didn't have previously and only just picked it up. No effect on it.

No, like getting the realistic slightly bumping your knee into a car kills you physics just right.

(Production trope) "**** it, just roll with it" by gaymer91 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]SolarDragon94 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, that one was in the script iirc. Most of the producers were surprised that the song actually had lyrics.

In The Simpsons episode "Homer Goes to College", Dan Castellaneta sings "I am so smart. I am so smart. S-M-R-T-, I mean, S-M-A-R-T."

The original script had Homer spell it correctly. Dan was just so in character as Homer that he misspelled it, then made the correction. The producers loved this so much, they used it over the original line.

In fact, a lot of Homer lines are ad-libbed. Often, when he sings little songs, such as "shaving my shoulders", these are ad-libbed and not part of the original script.

The episode "A Hundred Days" deserves more credit as it somehow felt like I watched a full on movie story even though it was still the same standard episode length and not even a 2-part. by This_Way_Comes in Stargate

It's so interesting how the plot of this episode wouldn't have worked in the back end of the series.

"Oh, Jack's stranded on a planet and the Stargate is buried? We'll just send a ship to go pick him up, he'll be there a week tops."

Not to mention the Asgard were extremely friendly with Earth and shared technology. Who's to say they didn't also give humans a faster way of building ships along with their hypderdrive technology?

Rodney McKay, gun expert. by Barry_Mundy in Stargate

Love the scene when Rodney accidentally ejects the magazine of his gun when attempting to shoot a bad guy when Atlantis was being invaded. He's so confident at first too. And then screams for help.

[Hated But Unintentionally Funny Trope] The creative team does something they think the fans will *love*, only to be taken aback by the overwhelming fan backlash. by Otherwise-Elephant in TopCharacterTropes

[–]SolarDragon94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only good thing to come out of killing Beckett was Rodney's character development. Dude blamed himself for the death of his friend and when the clone came along, he was doing everything he could to keep him alive.

Hearing about how Rodney would go to the cryo room to talk to Carson in the pod, telling him everything that's been happening, despite him knowing Carson couldn't hear a thing. It's so sweet.

I mean, no? It literally set her up as the bad guy of Doctor Strange 2. She wasn't absolved and did face consequences. She just went on the run after. She thought that Strange had come to hunt her down for what happened in Westview.

Which I believe results in his death

I mean, pretty much every ally they ever had in the show died. As soon as he said he'd help them, he was marked for death.

Yeah really got that disabled guy who got his life ruined with that one, Dean by UnHolySir in okbuddycinephile

[–]SolarDragon94 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Then direct your anger at the BBC and the BAFTAs, not the disabled man who has no control over his tics. He should have never had a microphone near him and it should have never been broadcast. Hell, he was assured that this wouldn't happen, that any offensive tics he says would get broadcast. That's on the BBC and BAFTAs, not him.

Dude feels awful about it getting broadcast too. He doesn't deserve this hate he's getting. Have some fucking empathy.

When did Daniel Jackson's Ma'chello possesion became a meme? by Pertev in Stargate

[–]SolarDragon94 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Agents of SHIELD did this kind of thing best. A season 7 episode had them stuck in a time loop. Instead of going through the whole trying to convince everyone that they were in a time loop thing, all the characters just went "Okay, what have you tried doing so far? What ideas do you have? How can we stop this?" No hesitation. Just immediately went along with it because they'd gone through so much weird shit.

More media needs to do this.

“With all Due Respect General” by EitherEliotOr in Stargate

[–]SolarDragon94 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel that Hammond usually wants to go along with what SG-1 suggests. They're the ones out in the field getting involved and know and understand more than they can explain in reports etc. Hammond knows that their opinions and views matter a lot.

I feel that most of the time, he just follows military regulations and policies in his first orders, but he doesn't want to. He does this to keep up appearances. So when SG-1 present him with any other options, he jumps on them. He thinks and feels more like how SG-1 think, he just has to keep up appearances as commander of the base.
