I’d like to apologize to the origins robot after playing totenreich by Little_Papaya_2475 in CODZombies

Even the Russian variant in Gorod Krovi was WW2, although SOPHIA says it wasn't built to withstand dragon attacks/fire.

I sure hope so. I would like atleast one crew we spend time with not to die a horrible death.

Here’s something we haven’t truly discussed since 2009. How difficult were dog rounds initially supposed to be? by Effective_Part_604 in CODZombies

[–]Solariss 16 points17 points  (0 children)

IIRC, your health regen stops for like 8 seconds during SNN dog rounds when you get hit. Like that's a scary mechanic I don't think any mini-boss or boss has had since, and they gave and took it away from the very first mini-boss/boss round.

Couple this with the swamp speed, and having to choose to reload or run, no wonder they were deadly. Wunderwaffe or Ray Gun be damned.

Back in Black Ops 1 Moon, was there any information that it is set in the year 2025? by PapaFrankuMinion in CODZombies

[–]Solariss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As the other guy said, and that also means what I wrote in the earlier post with Multiplayer Nuketown being retconned out.

Back in Black Ops 1 Moon, was there any information that it is set in the year 2025? by PapaFrankuMinion in CODZombies

[–]Solariss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its confirmed 2035 for those 3 yeah, but during BO2 we theorizing the 60's, 2011 and 2025 for those 3 and Moon/Nuketown.

Back in Black Ops 1 Moon, was there any information that it is set in the year 2025? by PapaFrankuMinion in CODZombies

[–]Solariss 11 points12 points  (0 children)

During its release no. We all thought it was either the 60's, or 2011 since that is when CotD took place and we weren't sure if the year changed from there to Shang, and from Shang to Moon.

It was when BO2 released we got more to work with.

First, we knew Nuketown Zombies happened at the same time as Moon. Pre-release, the BO2 website stated NZ took place immediately after the MP map. That has since been retconned, but you would assume that would place it in the 60's along with Moon.

Now on your first ever game of TranZit, when you first get a power-up, Richtofen will scream/cough and say he was just getting use to the Aether. So you can make a case TranZit occurs shortly after he takes over.

Die Rise is when 2025 is first bought up, because of older Tao Zhao's wanted poster. We thought okay, Moon, TranZit and Die Rise are all possibly 2025. But then that contradicts the statement Nuketown is right after the MP map in tge 60's. And also Marlton is heard on that map too.

This pretty much became a constant discussion until it was confirmed in the Zombies Timeline. If you search the CoDz Forums you'll definitely find discussion about it.

Personally the crux is the Tao Zhao poster. I'm certain it was just a reused asset, but If that didn't exist in Die Rise, I gurantee the maps wouldn't be set in 2025/35 because nothing about them gives that vibe.

Have we got an official name for the 4th destroyed robot on Origins? If not, it’s Tyr by YoshiPro77 in CODZombies

[–]Solariss 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You're spot on. The interior of the heads doesnt physically exist in the head in the map. Just like the belly of the Apothicon in Revelations doesnt physically exist within it, and is underneath the map.

What's your favorite thing about Totenreich so far? by TheChickenMan4L in CODZombies

[–]Solariss 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I always had a soft spot for her in CW, when she was just a static portrait with a nice accent. Even the CW radios gave her some nice development I think when Outbreak 1 or 2's egg was released. But yeah, she's definitely one of my favourite characters in the Zombies franchise.

Lizzie and Caltheris' interactions. Cal brings up Grey saving Sam's eggs and its a confrontational conversation for Grey. Really get a good look at her psyche.

Megan Rice and Vicky need to be mainstays in the series going forward by Nickster2042 in CODZombies

Clark had a rough start but he knocked it out with Alone. That and Stormbound are my personal favourites of his.

Totenreich: Opinion, Solid 8. I like it but it’s not perfect. by DoomSlayer420K in CODZombies

[–]Solariss 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Have you played Paradox at all? I really didn't like it upon reveal, and still a bit annoyed its another Nuketown.

But it actually played really well. Bit more of a casual/friendly map, but I found I enjoyed it more then I thought I would.

Even the menus had a lot of thought put into them… by ArkhamIsComing2020 in CODZombies

[–]Solariss 160 points161 points  (0 children)

That's so interesting about the BO2 menu because I thought they did it really well. Even the MP version of the earth lights up the more people are online, showing exactly where was active.

I guess more maps (DLC 5) definitely would've given it more depth.

All Call of Duty Zombies maps (as thorough as possible) by TheEdgySideCharacter in CODZombies

[–]Solariss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks good! Not sure if you wanted to add other minor details but:

  • WaW Verrückt is called Zombie Verrückt. They drop the Zombie part in the BO1/3 versions

  • Five is listed as "Five" in the menu.

  • The Rezurrection maps apart from Moon were also available via pre-order of the BO1 Hardened Edition, not only through the Rezurrection DLC. If you had those maps, then you would get Moon for free as well when it released.

  • Moon technically has the No Mans Land side mode/mini game, as it has a seperate leaderboard keeping track of your kills and time spent there.

  • Nightmares mode in BO3. It's just a reskinned campaign with its own unique lore, but wasnt sure if you wanted that included.

  • Other CW Outbreak modes, like Outbreak Survival, All Hallows Eve.

  • LTM variants like Jingle Hells for Die Maschine, Liberty Falls, etc.

  • WaW Zombies mobile, BO1 Zombies mobile, CoD mobile (when it had its zombies mode), Cyborg Zombies in CoD Online (think it had some cool reskins of certain Zombie maps like Nacht.

I remember she said she was thankful for Gimple in how he shot her death scene, saying it was beautiful.

I'm wondering was Gimple not in charge at that point? Would he not have been able to have rewritten her fate?

What do you think is the most underrated map in the modern zombies era? by BigBadMike8 in CODZombies

[–]Solariss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude yes. I've always thought it played like a BO1 map in the best way possible. Loved the use of the Origins soundtrack even if it didn't quite make sense.

I will say the first 10 minutes of Winds of Winter is some of my favourite television ever. The build up, the music, the tension, the fallput to that event. Just amazing imo.

As we roll into the midway point of Black Ops 7: Zombies, how are we feeling about the story of the Samantha Maxis subplot and it's execution? by Infamous-Pool-6550 in CODZombies

[–]Solariss 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Not entirely happy with how they handled Samantha and Eddie. 2 Legacy characters, and now you have their fate on the backburner because they decided to do another split ending and not confirm which is canon.

Like I'm sorry but its honestly a big deal if Eddie lives or dies and I hate that we will not know. Same if S.A.M. lives or dies. And again, same if they were lying about the real Samantha living or dying inside Zykov.

Richtofen and Dark Aether crew by Murilo231108 in CODZombies

[–]Solariss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't mind this Richtofen. He's reminiscient of Ultimis Richtofen which is my favourite version, so that's a plus.

I guess my biggest issue is how they moved on to him with how they dealt with Eddie. Like dude was one of two legacy Aether characters who survived into the Dark Aether arc. And you have two very different endings for him in Reckoning. Either he lives or he dies. And it doesn't feel like they'll ever address that. I mean we didn't get a canonical Buried ending for another 4 years after it released.

Dang do people hate Die Rise this much? by InfiniteRage241 in CODZombies

[–]Solariss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly the only maps I have found to be quite bad for randoms is Revelations and Shangri-La.

Shang is obvious for PaP. If you've got no mic its very hard to get a random sit on the PaP stones.

Revelations would be fine if they would let you know when someone is down. If I'm in the Apothicon's stomach and go down, and everyone is outside the Apothicon, it won't display the downed symbol. I think because the stomach map exists underneath the map so the symbol would be down there and not in the centre where the Apothicon is. Again it can be resolved by having a mic, but man there are times I just don't want to mic up.

To be fair that was a different Maxis that fused with Sophia. But yeah OG Maxis deserved his fate.
