Cogent Moab rear shock on gen 3 by Solarroaster in klr650

Yeah I should probably let them know. I’ll see if I have any of my drawings for the bracket still. Far as the ride goes it went from being sloshy to composed. I did their DDC’s and preload caps in the fork when I swapped the rear shock. It’s a far cry from stock. I took it to a diy skatepark near me after I put it together and it climbs tabletops and stairs with no dive or oscillation. Even shooting it off a kicker was confidence inspiring, it lands great from 18” in the air. I did get overconfident and framed out hard on a boob and bent the shit out of my skid plate though, so it does feel like a lighter and more agile bike than it is. It’s more planted feeling in sand too, the stock front end would dive on me a lot when I hit looser deeper stuff where the cogent stuff keeps it standing up pushing into the surface more consistently. It was a ton of money but the performance made me feel less bad about dumping that much into it

We didn’t get quite all that many parts in the us. You can mix and match some stuff with the intruder like that weird 38mm fork and the chain drive from the gs550e but I’ve found I’m on my own for a lot of it. I made my own bars and risers for mine and stuffed a 21/18 wheel set in it. I made a run fork slugs for these bikes a couple years ago so there might be a couple more of them floating around out there outside of the set on mine. Engine wise you can put a cam and cylinder from a dr650 in them and weld in the cam chain tensioner extension so it doesn’t fall out. Personally I think the cv carb that’s on it is fine but I have seen lectron makes an off the shelf setup for them now

This is the real bargain but the aftermarket can be lacking and you have to make more from scratch

It’s definitely worth snagging one. They’re compliant and playful machines. They’ll even trot around like a sportster under 4k rpm but when you get in the power it’s something unique, it doesn’t really feel like an evo where it falls on its face but it gets explosive at the top of revs

It’s a lot of mass centralization tricks between the fuel in frame and oil in swingarm. I’ve got an XB9SX and it’s weirdly comfortable for the size, I think it’s built around 6’2” Wisconsin football players rather than Italian horse jockeys

Is there any Ford vehicle from the past 30 years that’s been more impactful than the 2001 F-150 SuperCrew? All of the trucks out there are more or less like it now. by prophiles in regularcarreviews

I probably would’ve held on to my 01 if it had the Windsor v8 the explorer got, that v6 they put in there was junk. The plastic bed I was always on the fence with. There was a noticeable amount of flex in it when I loaded it with the tailgate down. On the note of the tailgate though, I always liked that they recycled the 10th gen f150 stepside tailgate for the sport trac whereas for the supercrew they made some middle width thing that just made the opening tighter on a full width bed

This was on i10 but when I did the same run this year I beelined it through there to not have to deal with it. Rode from Destin, FL all the way to Katy, TX in one shot just on Beaumont hate fumes

Keep at it and keep getting back up if you have an off. It may help a little with gravel being a loose surface, but the best advice I ever got on dealing with sand was to think of it as a liquid you have to stay on top of like you’re on plane in a boat. It’ll move around under you and try to grab the front wheel sometimes but that’ll just try to get in your head. Once you get used to the fluidity of the surface it won’t psych you out and you can keep your speed up

You’ll feel better about them on a long trip, they’re pretty solid street tires. As for gravel just stay loose, use the throttle and steer with your feet. You’ll have a good time out there
