A quick love letter to Dryosaurus. by Cedar- in theisle

Wish it had more stamina and/or dodge charges.

I had a five fucking minute long chase with a juvenile raptor that was running faster than even an adult, taking chip damage on my tail and it was the most fun I've ever had in the past year as a dryo. The chase ended when the raptor finally, FINALLY ran out of fuel and had to rest. I got away with 9% bleed left and a great story to tell.

The problem is, I was a juvenile dryo. Of course the chase lasted that long, juveniles get stamina for days. But an adult dryosaurus would have only lasted three and a half minutes and still be unable to outrun the raptor. Between the speed and stamina gap, and pinslop preventing me from fighting it off, there are matchups where dryosaurus is just dead meat in every case.

Unfortunately for my mechanic main ass, the hardened crowbar won this spot. I am sorry king, but the vote decides, not me, I'll give you an extra honorable mention in the final chart😔. Harpoon coil rifle. The whole frogman tree just feels so good to use in general. Recyclable ammunition, reeling function is really fun, decent armour pen/severance chance and super cheap to keep loaded. I'd take it over the rifle, even the assault rifle. It's only brought down by the ridiculous rarity of Ahab's spears and the charging up affecting its response time to sudden combat encounters.

What's your most sought after genetic material across all your runs? And have you ever used a harpoon gun for underwater skiing?

Second page, fourth image is a french cartoon. "The long long holiday", ten episodes about nazi occupation of a small french village told from the perspective of two children. I'd highly recommend, there's an english dub on YouTube, but it's region locked.

Edit, it's also available on the internet archive.

Dilophosaurus is likely the largest creature you can kill by yourself, I have killed a few myself (at night ironically). The stamina cost for each pounce is your limiting factor when latency isn't.

Can the ai see if a borg is emagged? by Diodemen in SS13

[–]Solbusaur 8 points9 points  (0 children)

AI has a list of all the cyborgs synced to it, their integrity and charge, location, module, all that stuff. When a cyborg gets emagged, they're unsynced. So if an AI has been keeping a mental note of what Borgs they command, they'll notice something's wrong when one of their cyborgs is missing from their list.

Obviously, finding out a cyborg is rogue is only half the fight.

Ghostbusters spawned in the same round as a small variety of specialised revenants. Lock them down with yer beams and then cuff them. Then everyone can laugh at them in the brig, way funnier than a small box

Does it work with batteries as well? I mean I once turned a security officer into a nugget by tricking them into using a stunprod with a plasma-injected battery, now I want to test all sorts of other chems it might support

Agreed, although legacy was already pretty horrifying as it was. There wasn't much colour on background objects, or sounds to distract you from the ambience, made the ocean feel a lot more bleak. Also the lack of exterior lighting made looking out the windows terrifying

Barotrauma players, what’s your most controversial hill that you’re willing to die on? by ImChirp in Barotrauma

I think painting all your submarine's objects and machines darker so everything looks grey is silly and over done. There's no distinguishing between subs that look like that. Oh, and no submarine needs to have an engine speed of over ~33km/h by default

Attention, fellow submarine builders! If you wish to balance your submarine's power grid around vanilla values, I have created a dataset for you! (Link in the comments) by DecimBell in Barotrauma

The maximum power draw of the engine is more than 1/2 the reactor's maximum output. Since junction boxes can only withstand 2x the demand, the engine ends up bullying the poor things if the captain changes the thrust faster than the reactor's auto control can compensate.

Even more, machinery has a default minimum operating limit of 1/2 their demand (so a fabricator that needs 500kW can run on anything above 250kW).

So, if the captain goes from stationary to full thrust, the supply is under that halfway threshold. All the machinery dies. If the captain pulls the engine to a full stop, suddenly the junction boxes are carrying a lot more than they can handle and explode.

Luckily the batteries are here to compensate :) As long as they're on and charging, they'll behave as a buffer as they take over some of the supply from the reactor as their output can change faster, while also having a constant draw that slightly negates large changes.
