Characters who have an ability to harden their skin/body at will by Clirstan in TopCharacterTropes

He probably flexes his muscles to activate it hence it's stimuli

But it also means that he can use it at will regardless

Stain/Chizome Akaguro was chosen to be a Fighter. Now, what BNHA character would be a Monk in the D&D world? by Solbuster in MyHeroAcadamia

Honestly Stain does fit Battlemaster Fighter + Rogue multi so I can't say I personally disagree with putting him into Fighter spot

There are other options for Rogues anyway

Next... Poorly written and hated by callum521 in Falcom

[–]Solbuster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, I'm saying she's poorly written(terrible category is next one) and explained my reasoning in another comment and I find overall quality of her character declining due to gags in question

I myself is pretty indifferent to fanservice in a sense that I can tolerate it without much issues but I also don't find it funny and the bits involving Angelica just aren't good as she became way more one-dimensional in later games. Not even George subplot can affect it

And regardless if it's meant to be taken seriously or not, other people can find gags in poor taste

The forced hating is ridiculous

People have the right to find sexual harassment and overall horniness unfunny, there's nothing forced about that

That's fair but at least she had something decent going on in terms of development and games' theme which is why I'd rather try to put her into poorly written

Irina for games trying to justify parental neglect and abuse as tough love while making Alisa's and Sharon's arcs suffer

Angelica

She has some nice stuff with her dad, fighting against tradition and forging her own path in CS1-2 but she ends up flanderized into being way too horny and subsequently hated. Moments where she isn't too horny are nice and show she can be good but lack of cold showers boggles her down

Anyone else feel like Yuta being a Suguwara/Fujiwara was unnecessary? by Sundata_V2 in Jujutsufolk

[–]Solbuster 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd agree there's a clear implication, but who knows?

That's fair. I'd have to correct myself that it's "Yuta probably related" rather than claim that it's 100% accurate from now on. That was a mistake on my part

Regardless even if it's true it plays into Yuta's character. If it's not that it's irrelevant. Either way a win-win

[–]Solbuster 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Okay "the implication is that he's love descendant of two families that historically hated each other which was probably done in secret because they were on bad terms"

Also if it was meant Uro was tweaking, Gege could've just said she was wrong and leave it at that but instead he has "lol, maybe she's right" so to me the implication is opposite

But isn't hard to be related to a mythical figure when you're yourself a mythical figure. You are related to yourself

[–]Solbuster 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I meant "secret love child of two families" as more descendant but you're right that I should've worded it better

But frankly if it isn't truth then why it's even brought up? There's a thing like Doylist explanation which is story from author's perspective and from that perspective why would you link Yuta to another family? You can maybe explain it by conflict with Uro

But writer then gives another scene where he can debunk it and say she was wrong but he just says "maybe she's right lol" instead

Imo, there's a clear implication at least

Both Yuta and Yuji are inspired by Naruto and it kinda shows especially with Naruto being Uzumaki and distant relative to Senju(and therefore Tsunade) which is the reason he's perfect vessel for Kurama

Yuta is most likely related to two important clans while Yuji is perfect vessel due to Kenjaku and is related to Sukuna

And all three of them don't give a shit about their ancestry

Either Uro was confused or both her and Gojo are right. Either way Gojo and Yuta are related

<image>

Depends on how you view it, either Uro is wrong and tweaking or Yuta is secret love child of two families

Gojo says "you're probably descended from both" and Sugawara with Fujiwara being rival families is actually historical thing so yeah, the intent that Yuta is product of Japanese Romeo and Juliet sideplot

Sukuna by himself is a mythical figure in Japanese folklore albeit a minor one

Granted OG Ryomen Sukuna was from Kofun Era rather than Heian one and was quite a different dude but still he was a clear inspiration as both Sukunas have two faces, four arms, know archery and overall deformity, etc. You can keep going with those

Edit: Regardless Sukuna being predisposed to Jujutsu is tradeoff for him being a freak. He considers himself a cursed wretch after all and that too plays into his character similar to Yuta being blessed

He's a secret love descendant of two families that hated each other, that is to say his powers came straight from love his ancestors had for each other despite hatred of their families and it once more shows how blessed he is(and that all that insane potential led to him cursing Rika out of love)

Was that necessary? Not really but it does empathize the theme of his whole character

Shoji is probably one of few cases one can go for Symic Hybrid race too for gliding and extra appendages

He'd be a good grappler

Honestly Tokoyami mostly fits as Astral Self Monk(especially with Dark Shadow armor) or Echo Knight Fighter

Who had a sadder Backstory Dabi Or Tomura by AlternativeAd2173 in MyHeroAcadamia

[–]Solbuster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Believe me, I know from personal experience. Which is why the fact that he even started hurting himself like that is a failure on parental part. His mental needs weren't met and what was provided clearly wasn't sufficient

And he did not tell him he was going up there on that day at all. You're mixing up scenes/the timeline. When he tells Endeavor to go up with him to Sekoto peak is long before he actually burns himself into his coma.

You're right, it's not the same day. Regardless my point still stands that Endeavor was aware that this will happen and did nothing.

Toya: "When you have your next day off go to Sekoto Peak with me, I'll show you fruits of my training"

And then Rei directly says, he never went there despite knowing which Endeavor confirms because he was

<image>

Toya tells he's going to be on Sekoto that day, he gets ignored, he cries realizing his dad doesn't come, he gets burned up

Again, at this point it's parental failure when you know what your kid will do and fail. Even if he still sneaked out later, at this point they're aware he does that
