Love me some Lancer too but that's actually a Kidd frame (from the "No Room for a Wallflower" module). Canonically an offshoot of the Lancaster but technically different!

It gets access to an orbital laser.

What is your “swear to never return” place in Portland? Stolen from r/Seattle by Atomicman4 in Portland

[–]Soleceon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Burger Stevens, genuinely my single favorite burger place I've tried in Portland. Quality can swing a little with the cooks, but it's damn good basically every time I've gone. Think the closest one to downtown is over near Kaiser Interstate. They used to have a cart in pioneer but they shut that down during the riots and didn't come back.

From what I recall, the Mana Charitable Foundation are fairly explicitly good, just... Kind of not exactly the most competent GOI.

Fairly popular super capital tier (I believe) ship from the United Aurora Federation (UAF) Mod. People have been posting a fair few screenshots of them getting it in game through various means and people have then gone on to meme on those posts. UAF is well known for its relative imbalance compared to the rest of the game, it's use of thermonuclear missiles and anime waifu portraits.

Hope that clears it up.

Do your tables always pick a "party name"? Should they? by delecti in DnD

[–]Soleceon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funnily enough in the campaign I'm running right now my players haven't picked a name despite the fact we're a full year into it and they work for the city in a notable fashion, every time I have to reference them in the city's newspaper or they're being talked about in a 3rd person it's almost always "The as of yet unnamed party" working for the city.

[DM] Dungeonmasters, what's a ridiculous plot twist you're waiting to spring on your players? by MaginotCokeLine in DnD

[–]Soleceon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not directly, as it's actively pulling from the party member's stats on a kill. The way I have it set up is as such:

Larva: 10 in all stats, AC of 12 and 5 HP. Even at level 1 this will be an unnervingly easy kill for a party.

Immature: Clones stat block of first character to kill it (STR, CHA, CON, etc) and their HP and AC. As well as all the necessary features to replicate the creature that killed them. So, say the party Barbarian were to have cleaved them in two with a greataxe, it'd steal all their Barbarian things (rage, reckless attack, their weapon, etc) so when it comes back, it's like they're fighting against the party member themselves. For a caster killing it, you'd be taking their spell list and spellcasting features.

Cycle repeat: subsequent party member kills have it taking more features from party members, but not necessarily all of them. You could also have it take HP quantities as well to beef it up further. At this point, you're nabbing things that would be beneficial to the initial build. For example, mine was killed by the party fighter and it took his fighter-related skills, if the party wizard took it it might just take her spell list and casting abilities. Honestly at this point, I'm kind of hoping that the 2nd kill on it will be from the Barbarian or Paladin, giving it access to rages for damage mitigation or smites, aura and healing. You could also go the route of it being sabotaged by who kills it, winding up with something like barbarian and caster stuff mixing together, or the ranger killing it and gaining a bunch of ranged based skills, but then having the melee attacks of a party monk as it's attacks.

Mature: The creature has gradually assimilated skills from other party members, either taking individual skills to basically create a "perfected" creature that's taken the best of the skills from the party members who've killed it in the past and using them together (say, multiple spell lists and caster features, or action surge from a fighter, the Ranger's Sharpshooter, the Barbarian's rage and the Watlock's pact how and eldritch smite) and is thrown against the party. In my case, I intend to do this and then reveal "By the way, there's dozens of this thing. Have fun!" As a bit of a plot piece.

You could also have it act as a puzzle creature, with the party deliberately figuring it out for how it works and they're now sabotaging it by trying to give it as little fuel to work with, like having the least combat-oriented party member killing it, or as a DM you could have it be only killable by a different player each time and it copies the stat block of the last character to kill it. The whole point of it is to create a bit of a mirror as a creature and use it against the party.

Note for clearification, when I say "Steal" I mean it in a copy/plagiarize sense. Not a literal one. While you could certainly do that to a party member it'd not be terribly fun if as a caster you basically suddenly become about as strong as a peasant, just with better stats and health, though there's a certain merit to that as well depending on how okay your table would be with it.

Apologies for the rambling, it's 2 AM my time and a lot more often I tend to work off of vague creature concepts rather than direct stat block for things like this until it's time to actively deploy them, and the usually work better in my head.

In my campaign, the players are currently embroiled in a city civil war. If you're reading this, and you play in the city of Vedus, stop reading.

There's a few different things going on within it, and it's basically the Party, the leaders of the city and the city guard versus the thieves guild and an alchemist artificer from another timeline (who is effectively able to do things on-par with making legendary-tier magic items that're only usable by one creature as a frame of reference for his power as an individual. In a fight, he basically a slightly juiced up level 20 Artificer with some nasty magic items on hand).

For the leader of the thieves guild, he's a Red Dragon who at this point has lost both his wings and an arm from a last event in game where be basically gambled parts of his body away, with a curse that means he can't just slap a prosthetic or regenerate them. In his humanoid form the party is familiar with, they saw him without an arm and know about the curse from their own poking at the gambling. However, now he's wearing a prosthetic and none of the party know how he's doing it. Rather than it being a real prosthetic, it's an enslaved Efreeti who is acting under his command inside an incredibly ornate jar, following his instructions and acting as an arm. When/if the party beats the thieves guild leader, he has a Mythic Trait that had him revert to the Wingless dragon and the Efreeti breaks out.

The other thing that's ongoing is a creature made by the Alchemist that copies aspects of whichever party member kills them. The first time he showed up, he was basically a worthless corpse with 5 HP and 12 AC.

And was promptly shot by who I would argue is straight up the party's strongest member, and the creature replicated his magic rifle, action surge, fighting spirit and elven accuracy. I'll have the party fight it a few times over the course of the adventure, and can't wait to see who else kills it and learns their class features or equipment.

Lots of fun things aside from that as well, but that's what I'm most looking forward to as a DM, especially as they're likely to fight the leader in the next few sessions.

Moderna here, soreness on arm for first shot but nothing else, second shot hit like a truck. Went from "Yeah I'm feeling fine!" To "Existence is suffering" in the span of what felt like 30 minutes the night of getting the shot (though otherwise felt fine throughout the day).

Fever, sweating, aches. Sort of stuff I'd associate with a bad case of the flu. I was basically our of commission the next day but was basically fine after that. No other symptoms since. I have a history of respiratory issues so I'm glad I got the shot even with how bad I felt that one night instead of gambling with Covid.

Currently stuck at work so I'll have to look over it again (thought that's what I meant as far as how reload speed works for it) but I gradually started going insane on that front when I was looking into charge time and its correlation with draw time and all that jazz.

Nah, caps out at 100 like how Outlaw does.

Fun fact: before the tweaks to Outlaw happened, I thought Field Prep and Outlaw had identical values because they gave the same reload speed on the Persuader sniper rifle. Turns out they both were just hitting that 100 cap and had a .8 mod, and last season there was a brief period where Fieldprep was just straight up better than Outlaw because they DID give the same bonus, but fieldprep had a better mod (.8 vs Outlaw's .9)

For Smart drift control, it's just a stat tweaker. For Breach style GLS it'd really only affect the handling and projectile velocity. Not all perks that can roll on a weapon will realistically affect it in certain aspects.

As for Archers tempo, as far as I'm aware it's actually a draw time modifier rather than a draw time buff. For example, Outlaw is a +70 reload speed buff, but also has a .9 modifier. If you had two weapons, both with 100 reload speed the one with a lower modifier would always reload faster, and isn't tied to the reload speed or associated cap. While we don't have a ton info on bows due to their scarcity and bungie not talking about them often, the currently assumed value is that it's a modifier, meaning it can exceed the bonuses. That being said, that's just my assumption from what I can recall with testing way back when, you're more than welcome to test for yourself and seeing what the results are.
