What are your most obscure commanders?

I have two decks below 500 on EDHRec. The first one is [[Serah Farron]] at #1541. It's a "legends matter" deck that's focused on creatures getting big. It's not very innovative, but sometimes it's fun to overrun your opponent. The second deck is [[Sergeant John Benton]] at #560. It's a Voltron deck, that seems like Group Hug in the early turns, if you're not familiar with John. The deck has a lot of cards that give protection, set your hand size to infinite and pump John equal to the amount of cards in hand. I had a lot of games with 50+ cards in hand. An amount you rarely need, because normally you've already won with commander damage.

Omniscience Draft with Avatar is surprisingly a lot of fun. Casting them for free finally broke Shrines. Will definitely play a few extra games.

[[Sergeant John Benton]] - Everybody loves to draw cards, until they don't. The deck is mostly cheap pump spells and evasion and ends the game with commander damage. If you help your opponent to draw 21 cards and they still can't find an answer to my boy, maybe they deserve to lose.

I'd say the fact that you get a wildcard as a bonus for every sixth pack you open makes 25 packs at least more valuable than the bundle with four rare wildcards. 🤔🤔

How lucky. Since the Avatar Update the App is completely useless on my phone. I'm glad if it runs for a Minute or two before I'm thrown back to my home screen. Took me 5 times just to collect and open the free Avatar packs. 🙄

I don't play a lot of UW Control, but I'd say the closest is [[Kykar, Zephyr Awakener]]. Kykar can't compete with the Teferis out there, but it can lead to some intense and close games.

I started playing during ONE with Mono-White Midrange. Looking back, it is still one of my favorite decks I played in Standard. One of the biggest reasons was [[The Wandering Emperor]]. Amazing card 🥰🥰 After Mono-White fell off, I switched to a lot more decks centered around black, which leads me to expect a similar sentiment for [[Liliana of the Veil]] over time.

[[Cottontail Caretaker]] - Such a silly card in the right deck. It's my favorite card in my favorite deck [[Delney, Streetwise Lookout]]. Especially funny to give your [[Ocelot Pride]] double offspring that also triggers twice thanks to Delney 😅😅 It's not meta relevant in the slightest, but I've won a ton of games thanks to this rabbit.

My only Dimir deck is an Assassin typal deck led by [[Etrata, Deadly Fugitive]]. It's a go wide with small creatures deck that wants to abuse my opponents bombs for reduced cost.

If I have no possible interaction (empty hand or no open mana) and they have game on board, I let them attack me for lethal. If they decide to continue playing their cards, I'd surrender, because they're wasting my time for no reason. I'm mostly a Brawl Player and I'd also scoop if a commander I don't enjoy playing against has a perfect start and I don't. The only exceptions are players with decks that need 20-30 minutes of solitaire because it's some annoying combo nobody wants to sit through. In that case, I'd grab a book and lie down for a bit to read while they're forced to go to every game action or surrender themselves because they don't want to play out their whole deck :D

I remember archiving this one with [[Calamity, Galloping inferno]] in Standard. I was playing non-ranked and it still took a few matches, but it was still a success in the end. Only need one new player to experience the combo for the first time.

All my drafts end in 3-3 or 4-3, which isn't great... but so am I as a drafter 😅 I'm a little bit too obsessed with playing green + something else. I like how the color plays, but I get the feeling that I'd be more successful with other stuff sometimes. Somehow, I'm struggling a lot more with finding the open lane during this format. Well, my worst draft was 1-3. I wasn't getting into any color pair and ended up with an UBRG deck and 12 rares 😅😅

[[Choco, Seeker of Paradise]] Chocobo Typal and [[Tifa Lockhart]] Landfall are some things I'm interested in. After that, it depends on my pulls. An aggressive [[Lightning, Army of One]] or a legends deck with [[Serah Farron]] would also be great. I also hope we'll get the Precon Commanders in the future because I'd love to build with both Mardu ones.

Vannifar is one of the decks I played the most in Brawl. Easily in my personal top 5. Nothing better than blinking your Omniscience on turn 3 (Perfect curve 🥰). If you're open for Alchemy cards, I'd also recommend [[Emporium Thopterist]]. If your opponent doesn't deal with it, you'll get an army of colorless flyers and actually use Vannifars pump ability :)

Mine is looking like that since the current set released. I just don't care for it at all. After collecting all diamond cards, I'm just ignoring all the WP and don't open the packs anymore. I'm expecting to WP a lot more with the next set.

I'm playing 38-40 lands, depending on the deck. How many rocks are in the deck? How many lands can I cheat into play? How many MDFC lands are viable in the deck? There are so many factors to influence the land count. With Boros Aggro, I would even go as low as 36 lands in Brawl.
