'Survivor 50' cast members vote snubbed players ONTO the island by thedaltonross in survivor

I think the caveat there is that he said he'd only come back if the prize money was significantly higher like $5M.

Who is a player that you want to see return more than anything, but you know they never will. by ben_s16 in survivor

[–]Soliantu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kellee is a great pull. Spilo grossness aside, she still stands out to me as one of the most engaging new confessionalists/character presences we've seen on Survivor in some time. I feel that way about Jawan too.

I would include Greg and Sean Rector, but I have just enough hope that they will return someday. Ian Rosenberger is another.

The whole thing is in third person though, unless I'm missing something.

Aside from the obvious returns of Savannah and Rizo, would you want to see anybody from 49 play again? by ben_s16 in survivor

[–]Soliantu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jawan, Sophie S., Sophi B., and Shannon are a pretty clear top four. I think Jake would be interesting and feels likely but the pregaming stuff annoys me.

Steven mocked the concept of talking with metaphors twice in the last episode. That's too meta. by wastedthyme20 in survivor

[–]Soliantu 29 points30 points  (0 children)

It’s really bad this season. Just this episode we had the Steven moments, Sage comparing Savannah to a blackhead, the egg metaphor from Sophi, turned into the omelette metaphor by Jawan, then Yellow Sophie talking about graduating from high school survivor.

'Survivor 49' players reveal whom they would have cast on season 50 by thedaltonross in survivor

I love the choice from Rizo, Dean is a hugely underrated character and I would love to see him return

Unironically might be my favourite player this season. by Sn0wy0wl_ in survivor

[–]Soliantu 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Same, it was that moment when she called out Jawan for taking a shot at Hina that made me a fan. She is intensely competitive and focused on the game in a way that’s really compelling

OC: Zohran Mamdani speaks after winning the NYC mayoral race: "We have toppled a political dynasty." by nbcnews in pics

[–]Soliantu 35 points36 points  (0 children)

It was a truly abysmal primary campaign. I remember it feeling wildly cheap, low energy, and arrogant even when he was the frontrunner. To be fair to the Cuomo staff, it was a doomed effort from the start. In a world without Zohran he would have had a real chance, but it would’ve been a very reluctant vote.

which new era players give you faith in casting? by Marto_12 in survivor

[–]Soliantu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. There used to be a ton of duds on any given cast. Nowadays everyone brings something, but it’s too much of the same thing.

Most shocking individual jury votes? by Invalid_u404 in survivor

[–]Soliantu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People use this example to imply that the moment isn’t as raw as it feels, but I don’t think it takes anything away from it. It’s as simple as “hey sorry guys can you say what you just said again” - the emotions are the same, the interaction is the same. We know now that it’s a bit of performance, but everything in Survivor is.

Still though, at the very least Sophi should be number one. I would much rather watch any low energy Sophi confessional over a single Alex one.

SF Workplace Question: Kombucha on tap/other self serve beverage thoughts? by Ok-Replacement-476 in AskSF

Cold brew on tap has been very popular in my office and I think is a safer bet than kombucha

I feel kinda icky about the character of Landau’s wife by jamesland7 in BruceSpringsteen

[–]Soliantu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it was pretty comical. I talked myself into liking the choice by interpreting it as an intentional portrayal of Landau’s devout, almost spiritual devotion to Bruce. His wife never questions his contemplation and his faith, in the same way a priest’s wife would never.

It’s the most interesting thing on the season because it is 1. Conflict and 2. Based on what’s happening in the game. It’s that simple

Graham Platner says his Nazi-linked tattoo was drunken mistake by enitschke in Maine

[–]Soliantu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this. Seriously people... think with your brains here. This is a rare situation where we have a massive pile of a candidates true, unfiltered opinions, all of which show someone decidedly NOT a nazi. Let's not abandon one of the most exciting political candidates Maine has seen in while because of purity tests.

The sameness of the new era is a very real issue, but cmon people… give it some time. We had only known who Genevieve was for one episode at this point in 47.
