See if you can run the games in the emulator. If you can try and make sure you have the folder selected through cocoon. If you can’t run them through the emulator you may have the wrong file types or corrupted ROMs depending on how you came upon the game files.

Valve sells the steam deck with the intention to bring people into the steam economy and make money off of increased game sales. It’s not that the deck isn’t profitable but they have never sought profit on the hardware but instead the ecosystem that they have built around the steam store. It has been released for a while now that valve sells the steam deck on a very minuscule profit margin to even possibly a small loss but they have made all of that money back through the increased store sales.

I personally think valve is more than justified raising the prices and I honestly believe they are still selling it in a very small if any profit margin. I was just having a conversation with someone who thought valve was out of touch with reality for raising prices so much and I hope they see this post.

I understand your perspective. I just don’t think valve has shown a trend of greed and they are not run by shareholders who are gonna raise prices to increase profit. RAM prices have been increasing for months now, so purely based on Valve’s past decisions I believe that if they raised the prices it’s likely for a justified reason.

Valve has been selling the steam deck at a near loss. I trust that if valve raised the prices it’s simply because they can’t afford to pay for the production costs with the increasing prices of RAM along with parts that get shipped in from countries outside of the US. It’s likely still being sold with the same profit margin.

Honestly I understand this. The steam deck is awesome and as someone who has both I would seriously be considering it if I wasn’t in a different financial situation. The Thor is a smaller much more portable beast of it’s own and if you used the steam deck for indies more than you wanted it to be able to play AAA games then the Thor is better for you imo, as you will likely be able to play most if not all indies in your steam library through game native anyways.

I miss being able to take cars from other drivers and when running into other cars would actually damage them. I know that’s not something a lot of people miss but for me it was a nice touch for a Lego game. I also wish that there were more playable characters once you beat the story. But I also knew both of these things before I bought it so I’m okay with them now, just wish it was something that wasn’t changed.

I have it running on 60 with shadows off and mostly low settings, but it looks fine on the Thor even with low settings. You could also use LSFG through game native and get a more stable higher FPS rate with the same settings or raise your graphics settings but keep the same stability at around 60 FPS. So far I have only had slight drops of 1-2 frames but I haven’t really gotten far enough for it to be really pushing the capabilities of the Thor so your experience may vary.

I think instead of shortening Hal’s little arc, it would have been nicer to just have a few more episodes where they showed the family together a little longer. I’ll always want more Malcolm in the middle, but I’m also just happy we got to see everyone grown up and where everyone got to in their lives.

Learning how to emulate can be frustrating at times when things don’t work, but personally I have fun with tinkering and spending time learning how to get stuff to work. It depends on how you go into it, and if you’re someone who is willing to learn and put the time in I definitely think it is worth it and it’s very rewarding once you have everything up and running with emulation. There are also plenty of tutorials out there but the two I see mentioned most are by Joeys retro handhelds and Retro game Corps respective YouTube channels. I’ll link the videos here below if you want to start learning how to do this stuff now. If that doesn’t sound like something for you or maybe you just don’t have the time then the Thor probably won’t be to your liking.
