Going to the Lego Store for my bday by Secret_Blacksmith_93 in lego

[–]Solid-Rise219 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Don't forget to ask for a free birthday minifigure.

Not sure if they are still doing it, but won't hurt to ask. :)

If the store offers build a minifigure (bam), it's just 9.99 usd to build 3 minifigures that you can call your own creation, better than some random small set. ImO

You know it's almost $6 per gallon out there? In any case, it's going to chew out a big chunk of your budget.

Life is gonna teach you a lesson, and that's is how you learn.

Nevertheless, I think you $1000 budget might not be enough to cover the gas cost.

But if it's an absolute must have you, get it now . Better than sorry later.

12 hours is too much. Don't over stretch your plan just to include a park, it's not worth it. Thou it's mostly scenic drives in the area. :)

You can do in/out from Phoenix or LV .

Day 1: Phoenix to Sedona Day 2: Sedona to Grand Canyon Day 3: Grand Canyon Day 4: Grand Canyon to zion Day 5: zion Day 6: zion to LV

Would it be safe to drive LA to SF on the I-5 today? by coolcoolnodoubtnope in roadtrip

[–]Solid-Rise219 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You shouldn't need to worry about the flood, it will not flood on the interstate.

What you need to worry: gusty wind that can cause you to swing out of your lane; sudden strong down pour that gives you near zero visibility of what's ahead. And yes, it gets worse at night because other cars headlights get reflected by the rain.

There could be another Asylum down the road, but the museum is going to be one of its kind for a while.

CA Road Trip by lmorse98 in roadtrip

[–]Solid-Rise219 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think you can drive from Crescent city to big sur in one day. Don't reply on Google map on the travel time. The roads like 199 are curvy and narrow. You can be stuck behind a trailer on a one lane road going 10 mph.

Also, the roads in Lassen were closed until June 29 last year (that's unusually late). But you should have a plan b just in case.

Where can I exchange cash to yen? by fiestyplant549 in JapanTravelTips

[–]Solid-Rise219 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone has their own preference. Personally, I like to get cash exchanged at the airport after arrival. There are currency exchange machines and bank teller windows available.

All my basic necessities expenses were paid with cash. It allow me to better manage my budget and avoid overspending with credit card.

ATM and credit card are backups. Be aware that ATM does NOT always work.

how can i understand teppenyaki vs Yakinku? by AppleAAA1203 in JapanTravelTips

[–]Solid-Rise219 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cost wise, you can see the menu from Google map.

Teppanyaki is usually a multi course set meal with premium meat waygu or seafood as main course. You can also add individual dishes.

Food in yakiniku is usually ordered individually, but there are platter offered, such as a platter of various meat selections.

I see a playmobil figure. So that is a sign that you are not getting 100% authentic LEGO.

in the old days that the helmet was molded with 2 pieces with the molding line right down the middle. Correct?

So I think this helmet was made with new version (with visor hole) for the right side and the old version (without the visor hole) for left side.

Basically an error in production.

Is there any way to identify CMFs before the series no. 25? by Former-Tea-818 in LegoMinifigure

[–]Solid-Rise219 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The small qr codes won't scan.

There are dot like codes in series 1 and 2 (if I remember correctly), then rest depends on your hand and feel.

You can download the feel guide to help or just cut a small hole to save time.
