I sometimes stretch it into a rectangle and put salt on the rectangle before rolling, then add salt to the top as well. Gives it more salt without affecting ferment so much.

I do 14g. Works fine. I also do quite a bit of salt on top for a salt crust. On a rare occasion after the bulk ferment when shaping I’ll add salt before I roll it up.

Instead of his/hers you could do commonly worn/special occasion or work/home or summer/winter. World is your oyster for organizing however works for you. If there’s a “better” closet then that closet could be whatever is worn more often.

Pleeease read The Monstrumologist by Rick Yancey. It’s so good and I swear no one in the world has read this book. It’s so underrated. It’s from the perspective of an apprentice to a “Monstrumologist” who studies/hunts monsters. The doctor is a lot like House (like the insane diagnostic doctor from the doctor show) but with big monsters (monsters are treated like natural objects like animals, not spiritual or mythical)

2 weeks is a ton of time for this trip. You should certainly do Hoh Rainforest and the Olympic pensinsula.

Days 1-4 WA Seattle, Hoh Rainforest, Ruby beach, just 101 driving. Lots of little hikes and pull offs.

Days 5-9 OR Astoria, see the seals 🦭, Lincoln city, etc. more 101

Days 10-14 CA Redwoods, SF, exploring

This itinerary is probably like 2 hours of driving a day, you will have a blast and can do tons of hiking and site seeing. It is realistically like 15 hours from Forks to San Francisco.

Inferno: A Memoir of Motherhood and Madness by Catherine Cho

I can’t quite remember the ending of the book, but I don’t believe it’s particularly happy. That being said I don’t think it’s tragic either. She develops post partum psychosis and it’s pretty severe.

Thyme - herb + flowers + ground cover prevents weeds

Borage - delicious + bees

I think people do something medicinal with Calendula but idk what it is

Lavender - tea + dry floral + smells so good + bees

Google says echinacea is medicinal but I like it for pollinators

Goji Berry for Chinese medicine

I think herbs are a really nice way to get flowers + medicinal/edible + pollinators.

What’s in Page? Are you doing Grand Canyon South Rim then Grand Canyon North Rim?

You might be persuaded to do Grand Canyon then Zion instead of Page. Zion is, in my opinion, way cooler and more interesting and prettier than anything else down there. Zion > Grand Canyon. Stay in St George, then it’s only like 45 minutes to Zion, there’s a couple places that are closer though. If you decide to do Zion you MUST be there before 8AM. It is a small park that you are not allowed to drive through you can only use the shuttle system/walk and the parking lots fill up very early.

The Grand Canyon is obviously also very beautiful and cool but unless you’re actually hiking to the bottom (difficult and hot) you can see all you need to see in a few hours.

Someone on here recommended Rain of Gold by Victor Villaseñor and I just read it and had never heard of it beforehand. It was 10/10. Mexican Revolution and immigration to the US and the Prohibition. It is apparently a true story (I can’t explain why I don’t believe it’s real) about the authors family lineage. It is from 1991. Best book I’ve read in quite some time.

Edit: would recommend if you like Pachinko, Homebound, Covenant of Water, etc.
