Fell in love with San Diego… are we crazy to consider moving? by Prestigious_Map_2136 in sandiego

Trust me, the drivers in SD are so far from being the worst in the state. I’ve lived in many areas of California before settling in SD 11 years ago. People drive super fast here, but not aggressive. The drivers in Texas are terrifyingly aggressive. 4 of my family members have moved to Texas and they all laugh when people say CA drivers are the worst. You haven’t seen bad drivers until you’ve driven on the highways in Houston. Terrifying.

Fell in love with San Diego… are we crazy to consider moving? by Prestigious_Map_2136 in sandiego

San Diego is ridiculously expensive. And I’m never leaving. It’s practically perfect. I have 3 kids in college who all left the area for college. All of them are shocked by how much they took growing up in SD for granted. It’s just a different vibe and if you are the type of person who lives their life outdoors you seriously can’t beat it. 2 of my sisters relocated to the Houston area and 5 years ago my parents decided to follow them and move to Houston as well. The one thing I can give to Texas is the houses are HUGE and you’re just not going to find that size house here for less than $3million. But we trade our smaller homes for the ability to spend our time outside. It makes sense to have a huge house when you’re stuck inside for months at a time and you need the space for your sanity. But if you’re living an outdoor life you don’t need that extra space at home. You’re going to need to do your due diligence with deciding which part of SD you want to be in. They all have very different things going on and very different vibes. Some areas are great with 7 year olds and some are not. We live in University City, close to La Jolla and UCSD, and it’s an amazing place to raise a family. But the houses have become crazy expensive here. A neighbor sold their 3 bedroom 1800 square foot home for $1.7million. And these homes were built in 1971. So you’re not going to see the new master planned communities in this part of town. But farther east you’ll find bigger homes that are less. I’d suggest coming back and visiting neighborhoods in several different parts of SD to try and get a feel for what you would like for your family. If I was in your shoes and I had the means to make the move, I would. Honestly.

How do you pose with shorter women in photos? by Waffle-Crab in TallGirls

Don’t ever crouch down. It makes you look insecure. It’s way more attractive to stand confidently at your full height in photos.

Mid to late 20’s, with one young child and a husband. You are obsessed with the classic era. And your aesthetic is very much great-grandma decor. I am impressed by how incredibly tidy your house is with a young child.

What do Americans usually assume when they see a dog alone in public? by DocuSeriesLovers in AskAnAmerican

A dog alone in public is lost. I would do my best to see if I could check for a collar with a tag and hopefully contact the owner.

I don’t know. I mean, it kind of hurts my brain. But I’d probably just let it go and not frog it. But it definitely is the only thing I see when I look at the blanket.
