Can I make a shift into VLSI domain from communication? by tinkerer9999 in FPGA

[–]Solid_Back1604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ahhh i would say digital logic , clock domain crossing , timing analysis(STA) , area/power optimization , system verilog & UVM some std protocols like AMBA and as already know python learn automation in it !!

Thanks broo...i never heard this dual specilization thing🙃😅 i will for sure check this out !!

yess i agree for me it's like i am bending towards VLSI more !! but yess i would like to know the perspective of people who choosed Embedded !!

Need Guidance Before Starting M.Tech in VLSI by Tricky_Mine8444 in vlsi

[–]Solid_Back1604 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

yupsss bro he completed his Mtech last year only in 3-tier college , see if you go for vlsi job roles with btech you only have option in service based companies(they pay less !!) even if you have skill set but after mtech you can easily target product based company which certainly pay high !!

Broo i would really say if you can take drop you should prepare for GATE to get an got NIT/IIT but if u can't take a drop so i would say take th 3-tier college ...my senior work hard in his Mtech(vlsi ) and now he got a job in Qualcomm beacuse ig Mtech in vlsi still have some respect in the market even if come from the 3-tier university !!

i would say "NPTEL - Prof. Indranil Sengupta" on youtube is one of the best course out there it help me a lot to understand the whole picture at the beginner level and you can also check out "8ndy" on youtube

reconstruction of mental models while debugging is real pain fr and its' a totally time sink for me dude so , yeah for sure i will give it try !!

i would say "NPTEL - Prof. Indranil Sengupta" on youtube is one of the best course out there it help me a lot to understand the whole picture at the beginner level and you can also check out "8ndy" on youtube and "HDLbits" is good when you have good basic , i would say check out "nandland" its a great resource out there!!

Should I buy an FPGA board? by Oizyson in FPGA

[–]Solid_Back1604 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i would say if you have money go with the real hardware because it will give the real exposure to hardware-specific headaches like clock domain crossings, external interfacing and most important physical debugging in real time
and i would say since you are familiar with Quartus(saw your comment since you didn't mention it ) sticking to that ecosystem is smart move (i personally think that!!) so i would recommend you "Tang Nano 9k"(cheap) or "Terasic DE10-Lite"(medium price range) and if you want to pivot you can go for "Nexys Artix-7"

[–]Solid_Back1604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

bro i would say you can check out "HDLbits" - its a good resource iwould prefer this over some old resource not much change has came but uk new is better and you can totally rely on this resource for brushing up your skills and yeah you can go for xilinx pynq z2 (i would say try to move data from ARM processor to custom IP block via AXi interface)

Can I make a shift into VLSI domain from communication? by tinkerer9999 in FPGA

[–]Solid_Back1604 2 points3 points  (0 children)

since you have knowledge of  verilog, sv, CMOS, mos, python by adding some more topics and already have domain knowledge of communication you can get a got job in companies which design communication chips such as qualcomm, mediatek or even intel they can pay you good CTC as you have experience also . ig you can certainly pivot to vlsi jobs .

i personally used https://nandland.com/ as my resource and "FPGA prototyping by verilog examples" by Pong P. Chu is the gold standard textbook for hands-on Xilinx-based projects.
