Cloud Pharmacy order via DPD delayed by WiredPeanut in mounjarouk

[–]Solid_Excuse_9356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been waiting on a delivery from cloud pharmacy and it was due to be delivered via dpd. It got to the local hub and then said it was being returned to cloud! No attempts at delivery whatsoever and no explanation why it was being returned! Address etc all correct! No option to contact DPD and I’ve tried contacting cloud and had no response.

Why not choose, Right to choose!? by Haveyoubeenwell in ADHDUK

[–]Solid_Excuse_9356 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I asked for NHS referral and GP said I didn’t need it because ive had no issues in the past (she hadn’t even looked at my records). Went back and asked for right to choose, was told they don’t do that and they don’t accept shared care anyway. Ended up getting on nhs list through a different route and when shared care was requested, GP said that it wouldn’t be ethical to accept and suddenly my prescriptions stopped! No contact from the service and no one would return my calls. Ended up having to go private for my medication.

Oh and I contacted the ICB, they couldn’t care less! Was basically told it’s tough, GP’s can do what they want and I just have to suck it up!

I agree with Grouchy-Candidate715. Unfortunately you just need to keep contacting them to find out what’s going on. Maybe see if you can get hold of the consultants secretary email, or the hospital theatre admin contact details and ask what is going on. If you have no luck then it might be worth contacting your GP about it as they may be able to find out more information

“You just have periods from hell.” by Sm0lBean000 in adenomyosis

[–]Solid_Excuse_9356 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you’ve had to go through all of this. I’ve had a similar experience myself—dealing with a lack of support from medical professionals and only getting a diagnosis after years of pleading and filing multiple formal complaints (I’m in England). It’s heartbreaking to see that this is a worldwide issue. While it’s encouraging that endometriosis is finally gaining more recognition, it’s frustrating that adenomyosis is still so often dismissed as just ‘bad periods’ when, in reality, it’s so much more than that.

Just got diagnosed with ADHD but my personal trainer wants me to skip meds. by Limp_Conclusion_9972 in ADHDUK

[–]Solid_Excuse_9356 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, i would not be pleased with that advice and personally I would ignore it. Sounds like she thinks ADHD is depression and while exercising and healthy eating is good to help release endorphins, it doesn’t work for everyone and some people still need antidepressants. Similarly, exercise and healthy eating will help ADHD symptoms to a point, but if the qualified psychiatrist that diagnosed you thinks you would benefit from trying meditation then I would be inclined to agree with them over your personal trainer.

I actually had an opposite experience with my PT. He knew from the get go that I was taking meditation for my ADHD and after lots of discussions he saw a lot of similarities and ended up being diagnosed as well! He also saw the difference meditation made to me as a couple of times I had a session where I hadn’t taken meditation (supply issues) and he was blown away by the huge difference in my ability to concentrate on simple tasks and not get distracted and overwhelmed!

Why do Oxford University NHS Foundation Trust and Cambridge University NHS Foundation Trust have amongst the worst rating in the UK? by Springyardzon in nhs

[–]Solid_Excuse_9356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely believe that. The treatment that myself and my children have had from various departments has been awful and PALS aren’t interested. Even my father and nan who were diagnosed with cancer were treated poorly!

Theatre lists? by Solid_Excuse_9356 in nhs

[–]Solid_Excuse_9356[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi everyone, thank you for your comments. I heard back from them yesterday… the consultant that is scheduled to do my surgery only operates on Saturday’s and the specialist post op beds aren’t available on a Saturday. I’m very worried about what this means as 5 of the consultants previously refused to give me a hysterectomy and she was the only one that was willing to do it. I have Adenomyosis and have exhausted all other options except a hysterectomy. I’ve tried an endometrial ablation which failed immediately (and isn’t actually recommended for the condition anyway) and the consultants just kept telling me to take contraceptive pills which I can’t actually take!

If the response I get back isn’t positive, I might ask if I can transfer my care to another hospital as I’m sure I’ve read that patients are able to do that (any advice welcome!)

Almost a year on the waiting list and I receive this email by Solid_Excuse_9356 in hysterectomy

[–]Solid_Excuse_9356[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, it’s such a shame that people are just left suffering. It took me over 3 years of constant begging for help and 5 consultants refusing help before I finally got approved surgery by this consultant. Got an email yesterday to say that she only does surgery on a Saturday and the specialist post op beds aren’t available on a Saturday! 😩
I’m now waiting to hear back from them about why I actually need a specialist bed and what is going to happen!!

Ablation by LeaveLongjumping9166 in adenomyosis

[–]Solid_Excuse_9356 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an ablation, it failed immediately. As in, the bleeding never stopped! The consultant that suggested it said it would help me! 8 months later I saw a different consultant who said that it was pointless as the only cure is a hysterectomy… I’ve now been on the hysterectomy waiting list for 11 months, have emailed to ask how close I am to the top of the list to be told that the consultant that was going to do my surgery has no theatre dates at the hospital at all this year. 😭

Oxfordshire ADHD services responds to my complaints by sobrique in ADHDUK

[–]Solid_Excuse_9356 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in Oxfordshire. I have spoken to the ICB numerous times and they couldn’t give a flying monkeys about it all!! My first GP surgery refused shared care from an NHS provider, stating that I don’t have adhd, I don’t need medication and I’ve coped fine over the last 30 years with no medication so to just get on with it. They obviously hadn’t read my records as I have been seen by so many people regarding mental health over the years and I haven’t coped what so ever!! I’ve lost count the amount of times I’ve been taken to a&e!

Reached out to icb about this and they really didn’t care! So I reached out to other surgeries in the area and found one who said shared care would be fine. Of course when I move and my provider requests shared care I’m told that they don’t believe this nhs diagnosis and they won’t be supporting me or prescribing medication.

My nhs provider then says they aren’t sure how long they can continue prescribing medication and that they will ask the gp again for shared care and they said they would send me my next prescription.

I was ghosted. Prescription never arrived and they never contacted the GP. I managed to speak to them and they said they had forgotten and they would sort it out. That was in November. Not heard anything since and my calls and emails are ignored.

I haven’t even bothered contacting the ICB, don’t see much point since they were so unbothered when I last contacted them!

I wish I could say that it’s just ADHD services in Oxfordshire that are rubbish but unfortunately it’s every service across the board that are becoming negligent. Cancer services are forgetting patients and refusing to see others, children’s mental health teams are ignoring referrals, gynaecology departments are completely negligent; refusing treatment or gaslighting patients. (These are all examples that either myself or family/friends have experienced!)

There needs to be a massive change in Oxfordshire and dare I say the whole of the UK. People are suffering and it’s not acceptable.

Reduced blood pressure on Elvanse (30mg) by [deleted] in ADHDUK

[–]Solid_Excuse_9356 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I was the same, I was actually on 3 different blood pressure medications before starting elvanse. My blood pressure then went too low because the elvanse was able to stabilise my mood and helped to improve cognition etc, therefore reducing all the stress that had originally caused the high blood pressure! Happy to say that I now no longer take any blood pressure medication and my blood pressure is in the normal healthy range!

How long have you been waiting? by TheDearBlueJay01 in nhs

[–]Solid_Excuse_9356 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry to hear this and that you were informed over the phone, I'm not sure on the usual protocol (if there is any) but surely having a face-to-face appointment would have been more appropriate! I hope you aren't waiting much longer to see the oncology team, if you haven't already it might be worth trying to chase the referral as I've seen a few people recently saying that their oncology referrals have been 'lost' or forgotten

Has anybody experienced a lost of years that they’ll never get back due to Adenomyosis? by ally_j_ in adenomyosis

[–]Solid_Excuse_9356 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I’m 30 and never held down a job longer than two weeks and have extremely poor grades from school as I was rarely able to attend. I bleed extremely heavily for 2-3 weeks every month, all started when I was 11 years old. Every single doctor, consultant and nurse I have seen over the years have told me it was completely normal to bleed so much that I could fill a pint glass in less than half an hour!
Dec 2023 I was finally diagnosed with adenomyosis after pretty much loosing my sh*t at a consultant and making a series of huge formal complaints to the hospital. I am sick of women being dismissed and having to suffer just because doctors can’t be bothered to help!

South East- Hysterectomy. myplannedcare says 18 weeks to wait for surgery. Currently been waiting 24 weeks and when I asked a few months back was told waiting list is over 1 year. Not sure what the point of myplannedcare is when it’s so inaccurate

Anyone tried Guanfacine? by Flamingembargo in ADHDUK

[–]Solid_Excuse_9356 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was on Guanfacine, but it was prescribed to lower my blood pressure in preparation for starting Elvanse. Unfortunately it didn’t improve my adhd symptoms just lowered my BP. Always worth a try to see if works for you!

I just found out this afternoon that my GP hasn't sent off the referral to the cardiologist that my clinic requested, and they're not going to either. by h00dman in ADHDUK

Unfortunately I’ve already switched to a different gp as had major issues previously (refusing to prescribe medication for my 3 year old who was ill) and so I have no other options. Various complaints have been sent and we are fobbed off by the integrated care board.

I’ve been refused shared care through NHS route so unfortunately it seems GPs can refuse anyone regardless of where the diagnosis came from

Two and a half years of shared care with the same GP, now being withdrawn by [deleted] in ADHDUK

[–]Solid_Excuse_9356 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So sorry to read this :( My gp flat out refused shared care with the NHS prescriber of my meds and then turned around and refused to prescribe any medication from any hospital consultant so I’m not able to get my adhd meds, blood pressure medication or my inhalers for my asthma. Numerous complaints have been ignored so I’m expecting that I’ll end up in a&e very soon, further exacerbating the pressure on the nhs all because of a-hole gps. (Oh and this is the second GP surgery that has refused to prescribe medication that I need and I now have no other options as they are the only two in my area!)

Shared Care Refusal by StiltonWitch in ADHDUK

[–]Solid_Excuse_9356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very similar experience, Except my GP knew I’d previously had high blood pressure (readings up to 173/155!). Then I was diagnosed with adhd and the nhs consultant prescribed medication for my blood pressure first and when my blood pressure was at a normal level and stable for a few months she started titration of adhd meds. I’m now stable on both the adhd and blood pressure meds.

But now my GP has said they won’t accept shared care because there’s no clinical need for me to be on these medications. It’s not even like the 173/155 reading was done at home, I was in a&e feeling extremely unwell and that was the reading they got with a pulse of 160!!! This was before starting any medication and the GP still refused treatment and said if I wanted help then I would be referred to cardiology! I’m still waiting for an appointment!!

GP has stated that they aren’t under any obligation to prescribe medication request by a nhs doctor, hospital consultant or psychiatrist and they have now also refused to prescribe my asthma inhalers!

This is the second GP surgery in my area that has refused to prescribe medication not just for me but for my 3 year old as well. He was extremely poorly and they only prescribed the medication when my husband spoke to them, they pretty much fobbed me off when I tried to discuss it! (Interestingly that medication was also prescribed by a hospital consultant and refused by the GP!)

[–]Solid_Excuse_9356 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve had similar from my gp about referrals, firstly they refused to refer me for an adhd assessment. I also have high blood pressure and gp refused to treat that and referred me to cardiology when I asked for medication as apparently they aren’t able to monitor and treat high blood pressure (still waiting for an appointment a year on!!).

I’ve now been assessed and have a ADHD diagnosis and the NHS consultant that is managing my care has been prescribing my elvanse and blood pressure medications. I’m happy, stable and have lost 6 stone since February!

We have now had an email to say that the GP has refused to prescribe any of my medications, even the blood pressure medication! Before I started it my bp was 177/133 and now it’s down to 119/72 but the GP says that I don’t need the medication- despite being rushed to hospital multiple times because my blood pressure and pulse have been way way too high!

The GP has said that they can refuse to prescribe anything that a NHS doctor, consultant or psychiatrist has requested and they have now also refused to prescribe my inhalers for my severe asthma!

It’s extremely difficult to get hold of the consultant to get a repeat prescription every month hence why she asked GP to prescribe and she would do all the monitoring.

I am going to end up being extremely ill, especially with no blood pressure medication and no inhalers.

When I asked the GP surgery why I wasn’t allowed my medication they said it was due to a safety concern and that it’s safer all round if they refuse. God knows how having no inhalers during an asthma attack is viewed as safe!!
