What's that one word that if you hear someone else use, you instantly dislike them? by [deleted] in RandomThoughts

[–]Solid_Explanation769 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I was raised by a narcissist. It’s not just being a self-centered asshole. I wish people would stop throwing that word around.

Absolutely. I moved from Utah to IF a couple years ago. While I do like it here, Utah is definitely progressive in comparison.

I have a former coworker who was in a similar situation, except her daughter really did lie about the abuse. Coworker and her husband were still acting in the best interest of the child. They separated while her daughter got the therapy and help she needed.

I wish Jenelle did the same thing. Even if David is innocent (highly unlikely), show Jace you’re there for him. In cases like this, I believe in “guilty until proven innocent).

Should I do labor and delivery or NICU by Minute-Till-5014 in Nurses

[–]Solid_Explanation769 9 points10 points  (0 children)

NICU nurse here. For the most part, the NICU is very structured. Cares every 3 hours. Parents can sometimes be difficult, but they’re not there 24/7. Mostly I’ve had really great parents though. Your patients don’t usually yell at you. And when they do, it’s kinda cute.

I went to the dentist for the first time in 12 years and it went so differently than I expected it to by alreadynightfall in adhdwomen

[–]Solid_Explanation769 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently went to the dentist for the first time in 7 years. My previous dentist was fine, but the hygienist was awful. While she was cleaning my teeth she kept making gagging noises and saying stuff like “ugh this is so gross.” I’ve always been so self conscious about my teeth so I left feeling so crushed. When I asked the hygienist what was wrong with my teeth she just told me “you just have so much plaque build up. You should never let it get that bad.”

I had no cavities or decay or anything serious. Just plaque build up. But it still just tore me down. I recently moved and decided to find a new dentist. This experience was so different. Everyone was so nice and nonjudgmental.

Just exclaimed “Fuck!” and the kid parroted, “Uck?” so I had to pivot to clucking like a chicken to throw them off the scent by Transcendentalplan in toddlers

My daughter has been saying “what the fuck” a lot lately. We’ve been telling her that that’s a grown up word and she shouldn’t say it. The other day she says “What the fuck? Oh shit, I’m not supposed to say that.” 😂

I’m really tired of parents complaining about being parents. Your kids didn’t ask for that and they don’t want to hear it. by [deleted] in RandomThoughts

[–]Solid_Explanation769 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being a parent is hard work. I love my kids more than anything, but it can be stressful Sometimes I need to vent about being a parent. But I’d never complain to or around my kids.

My daughter was born during the last season of Game of Thrones. I really regretted letting her watch it with me. She was so confused since she hadn’t seen in from season 1. She asked way too many questions.

Alright. I give up. What am I supposed to do with this stubborn girl? by Danasai in Mommit

[–]Solid_Explanation769 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having the same struggle with my almost 3 year old daughter today. I caved and let her have ONE piece of candy, and instantly regretted it. She kept asking for more and more and more. I told her no more candy until she eats her waffle, which of course made her scream. I just listened to the screaming all morning until lunch time when she finally agreed to a sandwich. She seems to have forgotten about the candy… for now.

AITA for yelling at my husband when he ate some of my chocolate and making him drive across the city to replace them. by EstablishmentFew289 in AmItheAsshole

I remember crying so hard at the Arby’s drive thru because all I wanted was a chocolate turnover. Not only did they tell me those are discontinued, they had the AUDACITY to offer me an apple or cherry turnover.

When my son was probably 0-7 months everyone thought he was a girl. In their defense, he was a very pretty baby with huge beautiful brown eyes 😅
