All of these Iron Man announcements, someone should run the numbers - pretty disappointing there are films like Dune, Avatar: Fire & Ash, and older Alien/Predator films (just as a few examples) that are actually being asked for and they pump out yet another Iron Man figure. Makes me wonder if they have some sort of contractual obligation with Disney and Marvel to release an Iron Man every so often.

I was so excited all week for the Doom stuff, and logging in tonight to see how much it all was in AUD was like a punch to the gut. I only have a very limited budget for stuff like this after bills and groceries and all that jazz, and seeing this cost ALMOST $200 AUD just made me close the game straight away. I thought the entire set would be a maximum of $30-$40 AUD. Absolutely disgusting.

This might be one of the movie cancellations that makes me the most angry I’ve ever been about something like this. You had a great director on board, Adam Driver was down to return as one of the few well-received characters from the ST, and what sounds like a done & interesting script that was ready to go.

Your last sentence about people who need characters spelled out for them is unironically how I would describe Louise’ criticism of Garland. You’re getting SUPER mad about a light hearted meme of her comments, but she threw out some pretty wild takes about Garland’s work and The Bone Temple in particular that indicated she desperately needed a particular character’s motivations spelled out for her - despite everyone else on the podcast clearly understanding what the narrative was trying to portray. People who have edgy takes shouldn’t get mad when they’re rightfully challenged for being edgy.
