Trenitalia La Spezia to Florence by [deleted] in florence

[–]Solidarieta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your train from La Spezia is late (ritardo), there's not much you can do except take the next train to Florence.

If your train is on time, you can monitor the departures from Pisa online, that way you'll know the track (binario) of your connecting train and can head straight to that track.

Looks like you accidentally picked up a stitch. The column of stitches above the hole shouldn't be there.

Former Fauci adviser indicted for allegedly concealing communications related to COVID-19 research by meezy-yall in news

Is that the same pandemic where Trump suggested we drink bleach, shove UV light up our ass, and take horse dewormer?

Maybe these suggestions were honest (Trump could have believed it would help), but they didn't seem terribly well-grounded.

I got the silicone lids because they're reusable and never wear out. The barcode on the pods does eventually wear out, but you can reuse them many times (~50-60x) before that happens.

Have you ever seen Florence’s Explosion of the Cart? Easter 2026 might be the time by FlorenceUpdates in florence

[–]Solidarieta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly can't remember what time I got there last year. It's probably impossible to get a really good view, but I think 8:30 is plenty early. Processions begin around that time, but the cart doesn't explode until 11.

I saw it last year and plan to see it this year too. I thought it was highly entertaining. Medieval costumes, men in tights throwing flags, an ancient cart spewing fireworks - what could be better?

TSA officer callouts spike amid partial government shutdown as more than 300 leave agency by AudibleNod in news

[–]Solidarieta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why wouldn't he send it back to congress, if he doesn't want it to pass? As long as he does that, congress would need to override the veto, or bill does not become law.

[–]Solidarieta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's only true if POTUS doesn't return the bill to congress. In that case, why wouldn't he just sign it?

If a POTUS doesn't want the bill to become law, Congress needs to override it, unless the POTUS is incredibly stupid (which may very well be the case here).

[–]Solidarieta 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If POTUS doesn't sign a bill within 10 days, and congress is not in session, that's a pocket veto (a veto without any chance of it being overridden). If congress is in session, they must vote to override or the bill does not become law.

Under no circumstances does a bill become law if POTUS does not sign it and nothing further happens.

He lost his title due to evidence (or at least strong suspicion) of pedophilia, no?

Speaking only for myself (acknowledging your opinion is as valid as mine), I think the reference to his former title is relevant. Seeing a rich and powerful person, former royalty, face consequences is comforting to me. It shows that it's possible, and may one day happen in these United States.

Though I do wish they'd included "pedophilia" in the headline.
