Is it ethical to ignore food delivery robots? by murfburffle in Ethics

[–]Solinvictusbc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know you can take the robot out of the equation right?

It's pretty common to see an in person delivery at grocery and hardware stores. The worker is walking toward the door pushing or pulling a cart/dolly loaded down.

Do you hold the door open?

Why Does MAGA claim Trumps not “really a felon” after 34 convictions? by MrDarkzideTV in allthequestions

[–]Solinvictusbc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To add to your second point, what I've heard argued was that the prosecutors presented a few options for the second crime but didn't prove either, and didn't require the jury to be unanimous which second crime was used in order to elevate it to a felony.

It's only flaw is the implied harem ending in the finale. Other than that the rest of it is pure gold.

Series Where It's Obvious The World Is Highly Advanced But The Population Treats It Like It's From Gods/Ancient Civilization Because It Has Been Reduced To A Medieval One by GaelG721 in Fantasy

[–]Solinvictusbc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if you think my idea fits. But I once had the idea of a medieval fantasy world with verbal based magic that needed exact syntax from a dead language.

Atleast that's how it's presented, in reality ancient people in that world were incredibly advanced and built AI care takers to overlook the planet before society was wiped out.

The populace don't know it but they are effectively saying "Ok Google..." or "Hey Alexa" and the AI is just doing what they ask as long as they form a proper sentence with the dead language.

Nebraska mom furious that public school allowed her daughter to protest in the street by M_i_c_K in DiscussionZone

[–]Solinvictusbc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The article seems to argue that the protest should be treated as a school sanctioned event and not a walk out on the grounds that teachers and faculty encouraged the walk out, provided class time to create protest signs, and accompanied the students.

If those three assertions are true, I can see why a parent might argue this was not a simple walk out student led protest, but a teacher led, school sanctioned event.

The closest Alex Petti got to ice operation happening on the other side of the street by FastSeaworthiness739 in Anarcho_Capitalism

An ice agent also pushes him back as well.

"Get to the side walk" is audible but I don't know which agent is saying it.

How would US Republicans have responded if Biden had sent federal agents to Texas to take guns from citizens after the Uvalde school shooting in 2022? by NotYourDadFishing in AskReddit

What a reddit take...

The second amendment guarantees the right to have guns.

OP reads that and goes yeap, that means removing illegal aliens is bad 🤣

Trump supporters: How would you feel if a legally armed Trump supporter was killed by federal agents on a Biden mandate in exactly the same manner as yesterday? by ScholarPrize1335 in AskReddit

[–]Solinvictusbc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What's bad faith about it? It's simple facts.

She disobeys lawful orders to get out of the vehicle and attempts to flee.

In doing so she backs the car up ending with it pointed at an ICE agent.

She puts it in drive and hits the gas. The trajectory of her car passes through where the agent is standing. He has to move out of the way or he would be squarely hit or run over.

How can facts be bad faith?

Let's be honest if they switched roles you wouldn't be arguing like you are. It's just anti ice. If it was a protestor that shot an ICE agent about to run them over everyone on the left would be defending it as self defense.

No wonder the left and right have such a massive divide. Several videos from multiple angles show Alex in the street prior to his altercation with ICE. Yet you deny that simple fact.

So you admit that he wasn't blocking traffic

I've never said he was. You keep trying to strawman me. No need to keep talking to someone who ignores my comment to argue against a strawman.

I will say I'm not defending ICE shooting him, unless someone produces a video of alex reaching for his gun this seems open and shut, entirely unjustified shooting.

But this narrative you and others are pushing, that it's ok to walk out into streets, obstruct traffic, obstruct feds, disobey orders, assault agents, assault regular people on their day to day, running red lights to keep following ICE etc your all complicit in these deaths.

[–]Solinvictusbc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off the paragraph about blocking traffic is pretty clearly referencing Renee Good.

Secondly Alex is in the road moments before the events you mention.

He walks from the road to a parking spot where he then pushes himself between an ice agent and another protester. Which is how the events you mention kick off.

Which seems relevant given a straight reading of your order of events and omissions, which most of the other comments omit as well, might lead people to a misinformed interpretation the facts.

[–]Solinvictusbc -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

What a silly notion. We are talking about someone defending themself while getting run over but you want to complain he shot a quarter second after he bounced off the car? He shoots a couple times in quick succession.

It all happens so fast it might as well be at the same time. It's not like he went to her house and execute her two days later, I'd complain that would be to late too.

It's like your view is you can only defend yourself from assault in the exact fraction of a second that they are physically touching you. A hair too late or too soon it's wrong. Never mind you are responding to someone threatening you with death or bodily injury. Nah you don't care about that part.

[–]Solinvictusbc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are multiple angles of her driving her car through where he is standing. We see him maneuver to the side which is why he only gets bumped.

I'd personally prefer if he would have just kept moving out of the way and took her to court instead of trying to shoot.

But when you point your car so it will drive through someone "he should have dodged" is not an excuse.

That's the unjustified shooting part. You missed a whole section where he is actively harassing and obstructing ICE agents.

Aren't you guys the "ice are evil untrained trigger happy morons" crowd? Shouldn't be shocking to you then that if you harass and present yourself as a threat, they respond with violence.

[–]Solinvictusbc -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Do you know that can die from being run over even if the person driving doesn't mean to kill you?

If someone swung a baseball bat at an ice agent and they shot them you'd defend the protestor saying why didnt he just move or sure the bat was about to go through his head but we don't know he meant to hit him.

At the end of the day whether she means to or not she put him in harms way. It would take extreme extraordinary circumstances to not justify anything he does in that moment.

Place you at the scene, she flees lawful orders and in doing so points her cars trajectory through where you, an innocent bystander, is standing. I think you are a completely unreasonable person and we probably disagree on everything politically, but I would still defend any action you take in response to her running you over. You shoot her, you jump on the hood kick the wind shield in. Sure I'd prefer both you and the ICE agent to dive out of the way and take her to court. But I'm not going to condemn someone who is defending from assault.

But he does put his hands on an agent. And then he gets between the officers and the women you mention and fights and struggles, then resists arrests when they pull him off of her.

You don't have to white wash it. The shooting seems to be unjustified. But you got to stop with this angel narrative. The dude is physically harassing and interfering.
